Future teams with Panini for Girl Gamer
Future and Panini will now be working with eachother after announcing a new partnership together for the girls' focused magazine title Girl Gamer. It will be an extension for Future's popular Official Nintendo Magazine. It will be free due to it being included with several Easter issues of two of Panini's other magazines; Mizz and Bliss.
The focus will be on both Wii and DS titles in the second issue after the success of the first magazine; following a print run of a nice 340,000 copies. It is also available online.
Lee Nutter, publisher of both Girl Gamer and the Official Nintendo Magazine, said:
"The universal appeal and accessibility of Nintendo’s DS and Wii consoles means that more and more teenage girls are playing games."
"Future's partnership with Panini’s Bliss and Mizz magazines gives us fantastic reach into this audience, delivering relevant game content to 840,000 readers of the print and digital e-zine edition of Girl Gamer."
Jess Tadmor, the marketing manager for Mizz and Bliss, added:
"We are delighted to partner with Future again on the second edition of Girl Gamer. The interest in gaming amongst teenage girls continues to grow and Girl Gamer provides our readers with varied content on some of the hottest games that are in the market."
I didn't even know this magazine existed myself but I will definitely buy it if I can find it. I think it's great having a special magazine just for girl gamers. Personally, I think they should sell Girl Gamer separately rather than include it in other magazines as I'm not really interested in Bliss or Mizz; but I expect that I would enjoy reading Girl Gamer. So girls, be sure to check out either Bliss or Mizz this Easter to snap up the next copy of Girl Gamer!
