Whispers are being heard through the internet grapevine that Nintendo is planning to release a motion sensing add-on for its super successful DS handheld.
The rumours suggest that the device will debut alongside the down-sized version of Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam - the extreme sports racer that is also scheduled to appear on Nintendo's Wii.
There is no official word from Nintendo or the game's publisher, Activision, although if such a peripheral was in the planning it wouldn't come as a complete shock - Nintendo previously produced a special motion-sensing GBA cartridge for WarioWare: Twisted.
Word is that this new add on, which would allegedly connect to DS via the GBA game slot, will be unveiled at this month's Games Convention in Leipzig.

would this rock or be crappy?
Does it exist?
Will it only be used in a couple of games?
only time will tell
personally i love the idea.
I don't think many people would buy this...
Wow this is old, I'm sure they did this for a GBA game

That Kirby game right? Or was is Yoshi?
both. kirby was a gbc game and they were making another on the gba that connected to the gamecube but it gont cancelled. and they've made a yoshi one on the ds. (i'm not sure though)
Yeah it was Kirby's Tilt and Tumble. That game was semi-sucseccfull but Yoshi topsy turvy was HORRBLE.Apperently the same company that made Yoshi:TT is the same one that is making the Yoshi's Island 2 for the DS.It got great reviews from people that went to E3.
the only problem being that your moving the screen around, i can't see it being successful.
even if it does exist
I think it would suck. Now rumble pack thats where its at.
either way, its on the ds this time...
yea they made a rumble pack for Metriod Prime Hunters that sits in the GBA slot, that would be kewl to have, but tilting... i dunno, depends on the price and what games it would be for, but it would be kewl.
i assume it would probably come with the games in question and you like pay ?10 more for a version with the motion sensing and i assume if they are going to do this they will do it for more than one game.
this probably would nt sell to well
with all the great add ons for the ds this will be the last thing on consumers mind
are they making a DS Lite rumble pak? I have one in my DS Phat...but hate sticking GBA games or the rumble pak into my Lite...it sticks out too much. I wonder if they will ever make GBA games that fit into the slot of the Lite that dont stick out? Still cheaper way to play than the 30-35 dollar DS games. Maybe they could make GBA-like games, with short development times and GBA graphics, minus touch screen, but on DS game carts? It could happen. The next DS then could have built in rumble, tilt, whatever...and there would be no need for a slot for GBA games...man I should be a software/hardware developer...
I wonder if they will ever make GBA games that fit into the slot of the Lite that dont stick out?
that woud take way to much tim,e and they would probably cost more
why would it cost more? The DS carts are smaller than GBA's and they dont necessarily cost more. The reason DS games cost more is because of development time. Look at the Brain Age series and the dozen or so games that have gone down to 19.99 in the last few months.
The smaller GBA would be the same size as the slot filler the Lite comes with. The chip would just be shorter, which I am sure the technology is up to doing now.
But if they did that, I would be more compelled to by GBA games for use on my Lite...I just think it looks gay sticking out a half inch or whatever.
this would cost more because its gonna cost more to figure out how put all of that gba gameing into a smaller cartridge second of all its gonna cost money to mass produce this all because of the way it looks in the ds
they wouldnt give this idea a second thought
they could just call the new gba games GAmeboyadvancedlite(gbal) they would just remake some of the better selling gba games.....but whatever, i dont even play any gba games so i wouldn't care. i just play metroid P H and MySims.
Already said this.. but any motion sensing on a handheld game system is a bad idea.
Its a mobile system, I'm not always gonna stand still while playing it.
