Could Square-Enix be the reason behind the orginal SSBB delay?

There's a rumor floating around on the net that Square-Enix is the reason for the Brawl delay. Could that be true???

There is a new rumor floating around the net stating that the character Geno, from Super Mario RPG on the SNES was supposed to be a character featured in Brawl. Supposedly Nintendo and Square-Enix have a copyright issue on who owns the character Geno. It's rumored that Geno was already in Brawl, but taken out at the end stages of development, causing the origanal delay.

The true fans of Brawl know that the development man, Masahiro Sakurai, issued a poll where fans in Japan stated who they would like to see in Brawl. Every character in the top 10 of that list is in the game, except Geno, who was the #1 character on the list.

IMDB.com lists the voice of Ness, Makiko Omoto, as doubling for the voice of Geno in the credited cast portion of its overview of the game. Then finally, on the character selection screen, there is a "random player" box in the far right hand empty corner. Not only does it look somewhat out of place, it's placing is also interesting. Right underneath Snake and Sonic, the other new 3rd party characters.

Could all of are hopes and dreams of Brawling be delayed because of a little copyright conflit between Nintendo and Square-Enix? We will never know for certain unless one of the companies comes clean.

Wow pretty convincing points!
Riiiight. That's why they took out Ridley, too? If I recall he was on that list as well, higher than some of the ones that made it.
Hey, it's just a rumor.
There's a lot of "reasons" as to why Brawl was delayed. The random character selector was present at the end of all the character selections in the demos, so i don't think that really says anything.
Hey, it's possible though.
I thought I remembered seeing it in earlier videos too but not I can't remember. Hey guys, don't kill the messenger. She's reporting what she saw and is not the one saying it. This is a rumor only anyways.

If you want to know who is really to blame it's not Nintendo or any third party publisher. I think we all know who's at fault here. *looks at Kindrik and Cloud* Ask them if you want to know what I'm talking aboot.
No need for clarification: they're to blame for everything Toungue
Uh, manburn, did you call me a she while i'm a guy?
Lol, these are some pretty reasonable facts. I am not sure on this one.
We already know all the Characters all the rosters.

A 4 day delay for Japan wouldn't make Geno or anyone playable.

FALSE.
This isn't about Geno being playable, this is about him needing to be removed from the game due to copyrights.
If that were the case Japan would've been delayed just as long so they could get Geno in too. I doubt there are any region specific features so its probably not the reason. But it would be nice to see more faces in Smash.

What things do Square have to do?

So the delay wasnt because of Geno being added but because he was being removed?
Yeah, according to the source. It was said that he was in, but he needed to be pulled due to copyright issues, therefore creating a delay.
What's a Theroy >_<

Theory.
