PSP Gains Ground On DS In Japan

Last week, the DS sold 79,370 units, the PSP managed selling a huge 77,933 over the same period.

Could the PSP slowly but steadily advancing past the DS in Japan? Also will the PSP start getting into a closer range of sales in other countries?

Dragon Quest IX anyone? Don't forget Dragon Quest is the de facto most popular franchise in Japan.


Dragon Quest VIII was the top selling PS2 game in Japan. Period.

When it was mentioned to me that the psp's sales were up in Japan, I knew that it had to do with FFVII franchise. All you have to do is stick that name on ANYTHING and it sells. Even if it's a good or bad game/movie/toy.

SO I second Cloud's post.

I think it will go back to normal once more DS titles are released.

And yes, Dragon Quest is HUGE in Japan. Who can resist those CUTE slimes! I hope we get the reissues here of IV,V,VI in America. That is one series that I really love. I haven't had the chance to play V or VI yet and hope I get to.
