This has to be the crazy internets, but the original report talks about the widespread use of the R4 chip, which allows pirate game play... i dont know a single person playing pirated DS game...sounds cool though, i wouldnt mind trying out a few before shelling out 30 bucks.
Anyone else 'know' anyone with pirated DS games?
The Entertainment & Leisure Software Publishers Association claims that over 90% of US owners are playing pirated DS games. Though no report is available for the Wii yet, it makes me wonder how many Wii owners are playing pirated games? Part of the PSOne’s success was due to piracy, though piracy was also partly responsible for the death of Dreamcast. Will Wii become the next PSOne? With “mod-chip” clones selling for a few dollars, it’s possible that many gamers are turning to piracy.

I know several and I mean several people who play pirated DS games on this site :0 I know a lot more that play them over here. It's way too easy to download the games because they're so small. I have a friend who has over 100 DS games by downloading... So, I definitely can believe this is true.
but 90% mana, cmon, i find it really hard to believe that the kiddies playing catz and horsez got them by illegal means
I dunno, kids are smart(er) these days. I know one of my friend's younger brother is about 9 and he is the one who first told him about the site where to get the games. It's just a google search away really. I will tell you that it's over 90% here that get the games via downloading or buying copies in the shops.

Absolutely no way that 90% of DS owners are playing pirated games. They aren't that readily available. That being said, I know plenty of people with R4's.

So if this were true, 9 out of 10 DS owners play pirated games. Not bloody likely. I'd saaaaay 25% is more likely. Wow, but if it were true.. that'd be crazy/
I don't play any pirated software for anything. I am totally against downloading even music.
The consumers shuold support the industry. 30 bucks is really not that much.
I had no idea you could do that with DS games! I didn't think that paying 30 bucks was that big of a deal for a game.

Funny thing is this article pointed me ot pirated games i didnt know it was possible.. Lets just say monday my flashcard too play "Backupped" games and homebrew and music and videos ect... will be here monday and i already have alot of "Back-upped" Files
