No. It shouldn't, really. It's more of a "share your opinion" thread. Not a "what one's better" thread.

No I never meant a what ones better all i meant was So it will be easier to see which one everyone likes since its a poll it doesnt have to be a Which one is better.

lol I just realised I missed out a few

*makes corections*
I was going to do a large list, but I was too lazy.
yeah i just made a list of favorite bands in another thread... *sigh*
so for favorite genre, ill say classic rock and alternative/modern rock. I like some metal and stuff too, pretty much anything but country/rap/"hardcore" stuff.

ok now seriously, no offense to fans of rap, we all have different taste in music, but to me, rap stands for something...

RAP = Retards Attempting Poetry
Think about it... it makes sence... Toungue

Now dont get me wrong, i dont mind listening to rap, some of it is alright, i just prefer rock.
I like a lot of things:

Green Day
Metallica
Nirvana
Rob Zombie
Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath
Korn
Garth Brooks
Rascal Flatts
Brad Paisley
Saliva
Chumbawumba (whatever happened to them?)
Evanescence
O-Zone
Most anything country
Pink Floyd
The Who
Guess Who
U2
Lenny Kravitz

American Folk Songs
RATT

There's prolly more, I just can't think right now.
Metallica

and thats all you need

And Mae, along with X Japan......and gackt.
I love me some classic rock. I also can't really stand rap personally, or techno stuff. It's kind of annoying because most of the bars and clubs play nothing else these days which I also find pretty unfair.

Groups? In no particular order, stuff like:
Pink Floyd
Queen
Nirvana
R.E.M
U2
The Offspring
Bon Jovi
Guns N Roses
Black Sabbath
Deep Purple
Van Halen
Green Day
The Rolling Stones
Alice Cooper
The Stone Roses
Oasis
Killers
Metallica
Keane
Def Leppard
AC/DC
Bryan Adams
Blur
Radiohead
Coldplay
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Snow Patrol
They Might be Giants
Foo Fighters
Manic Street Preachers
The Cure

and many others
Rock/Metal
Skillet
Silvertide
Shinedown
Breaking Benjamin
Eighteen Visions
Burn Season
Godhead
The list could go on and on...
Has anyone ever heard of RATT? If you've heard "You spin me right round", then yes you have.
I've heard that song.
Just to much :/
But for Short...

Classic Rock/Metal:
Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
DireStraits
Deep Purple
Guns'n'Roses

Metal:
Motörhead
Metallica
Mad Doggin
In Flames
Stone Sour

(Melodic)Death(Gothic) Metal: (or whatever you wanna call it)

In Flames
Children of Bodom
Lamb of God

Alternative Metal (?):
TooL
Opeth
Apocalyptica

and so on....really to much of Music, I probably forget the half xD
um, Lamb of God is definitely NOT Melodic/Goth/Black Metal... more like thrash/speed metal (they ARE called the next Slayer by many...)

anyway, as for me, I am a HUGE Metal Head!

Metal (because of so many subgenres [classic, speed, thrash, melodic, black, death, grindcore, nu, industrial, and so on] I'm clumping them all as one):
Black Sabbath (couldn't have figured THAT out, could you?)
Iron Maiden (figure that one out, too?)
Judas Priest (I'm gonna stop with these parentheses)
Motorhead
AC/DC
Alice In Chains
Kiss
Slayer
Pantera
White Zombie/Rob Zombie
In Flames
Opeth
Otep
American Head Charge
Bloodsimple
The Black Dahlia Murder
Ozzy (solo)
Black Label Society
GWAR! (hahaha, you know you love it! I've seen them 4 times!)
Dying Fetus
Necrophagist
Mastodon
Strapping Young Lad
System of a Down
Sepultura
Anthrax
Shadows Fall
Skinlab
Slipknot
Stone Sour
Megadeth
Metallica
Napalm Death
Damage Plan
Super Joint Ritual
Arch Enemy (Angela Glassow is a goddess!!)
Hatebreed
Mudvayne
Korn
Deadsy
The Dillinger Escape Plan

You get the point, the list goes on and on and on and...

Generally Unclassifiable Rock (and explanations):
Nine Inch Nails--Industrial/Metal/What?
Marilyn Manson--Every album is a different twist on the genres he plays with. I was tempted to call him metal, but naw. Possibly my favorite CONTEMPORARY artist (Sabbath will ALWAYS be my #1 band ever)
Tool--Tool is in their own genre all together
A Perfect Circle--Maynard. See Tool.

Classic Rock (that isn't classic metal):
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin (segue to metal, but not quite there)
Hendrix (in all incarnations)
Bob Dylan
The Doors
Derek & The Dominoes/Cream/Whatever the hell else Clapton did
Jefferson Airplane
The Who
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
CCR

This could all go on for a while as well... again, you get the point.

Punk:
Dead Kennedys
Misfits (w/ Danzig)
Black Flag
The Clash
Sex Pistols
Cock Sparrer (Technically Oi, but whatever)
Flogging Molly
Leftover Crack
MDC (Millions of Dead Cops)
Pixies (I think they count)
Subhumans
Ramones
Rancid (mainly because they just signed my friend's band to Hellcat Records!!!!!)
Static Thought (the band signed by Rancid! I fuckin chill with these guys and drink beer while they practice hahaha)
Reagan Youth
Social Distortion
F-Minus
Stiff Little Fingers
Suicidal Tendencies

again, the list is gonna go on forever...

I also enjoy some electronic stuff. I'm a fan of DnB and Jungle, as well as experimental stuff I don't know how to classify:
Muslimgauze (oh man, eat some acid and listen to this... time of your LIFE)
Squarepusher
Pendulum
Venetian Snares
Aphex Twin
Infected Mushroom

I could go on, but this post is long as hell already.

To recap, I love any good rock and roll. Metal, Rock, Punk, whatever, I like to rock.
