Second, the thing is, a brand new console won't really have the amazingly powerful games for couple of years. Game studios need to learn to work with the new hardware before they can really push the polygons.
Just wait. I promise you won't be dissapointed in the long run. Unless you're just being difficult.

Not true. We're about 1/4 of the way into this generation, and already I see some amazing games on the PS3 / 360 that just blow my mind. See: Gears of War, Uncharted, Killzone 2. What do I see on Wii that pushes the console? Galaxy? Fun game, yes, but not at all the best the machine is capable of, especially how poorly it renders in 480p 16:9.
For the controls, I've been hearing that, and I still see gimicky games coming from everyone except but sometimes including Nintendo. I don't think the Wiimote has the accuracy to do all of these "amazing" things that everyone talks about. It's there, and it's purpose is like the DS, to make a fun gaming experience, and that's great, but it's not going to be the pinnacle of a gamers' plan, simply because of the graphics.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Sad as it is for me to admit it, Wii doesn't have enough going for it to sustain it in the long run. There are epic games coming out for 360 and PS3 while Wii is just getting more of these "Games For The Family" titles.
I get tired of people saying "the best is yet to come", especially when the 2008 Wii lineup is seriously horrible besides a few like MKWii, Wii Fit and SSBB. One big game I want to buy, Fight Night, isn't coming out on Wii. What are we getting instead? Facebreaker with "fun" controls. I'm without care anymore as far as Nintendo are concerned.

That may be, but all those games like Gears of War and Killzone and whatnot are on the X-box, which, even overlooking Microsofts focus on powerful technology for a second, was out over a year before the Wii and PS3, which is a very, very, long time in the technological world. The PS3 is a special case, because Sony is pushing higher quality really hard now.
And I must point out, Gears of War was quite impressive, but nothing else really came out from Epic during that time, so they were focusing all their attention exclusively on one game, where Nintendo has a half-dozen games going on at one time. Nintendo is bigger company, yes, but all the big names like Miyamoto and whoever was involved in multiple projects.

Killzone 2 is a PlayStation 3 game. And I honestly don't agree. While Gears Of War may have been released during a quiet season there was still huge third-party support for the Xbox 360. Does Wii have third-party support? Yes. Are 90% of these games sh1t party games and other useless junk that I, as a 16 year old gamer playing for the last 10 years, don't give a crap about? Yes yes.
Correct, to a degree. But how can you tout the Wii's power, when the only games on the horizon are really just rehashes of the same franchises, one not even using the motion controls, the other using it to steer, which has been an accessory as long as I can remember. Besides those titles, the rest of Nintendo's year looks bland, as they released all ther IPs from August to March, and they can't get sequels out soon, so they need either new IPs, or rely on third parties to provide better support, and third parties aren't up to it.
How can Nintendo possibly rectify the situation? Simple, bring back the seal of quality. Stop allowing the low-budget garbage from Codemasters to be released! Start demanding quality from third parties. They see the install base, if they're forced to, they definitely will focus more on quality.
It may also be worth noting that in the start, Wii was a big mystery to everyone, and that helped it sell. Now we see all the hidden secrets of Wii and so far they're hardly anything to wet yourself over. Remarkably, I find it best described as 'boring'.
Here's how loyal I've been to Nintendo..

If you are unsatisfied with your Wii, then buy another console. You knew what you were getting when you bought it.
Who cares if Smash Bros or Mario Kart do not use motion control...that aspect was used to sell more consoles, obviously a strategic way to fight against Sony and Microsoft. Those two games will take up a lot of time in themselves with local and online multiplayer. Plus, we do not really know what is on the horizon.
And to whoever said "Sony has a blu-ray player," I say "Who gives a sh!t?" It is so hard to please people these days.
If you don't like the Wii, stop visiting a site called Wiiloaded. Go play your precious Blu-Ray movies while that Killzone disc collects dust.
And trust Nintendo by now. They have been doing this for almost three decades. They know what they're doing.

i think i love you guys...thanks for these posts, awesome...just awesome...i was beginning to think i was the only person that actually enjoys owning a wii (this on a site called wiiloaded)
However, if they want a great gaming experience, wonderful cost-to-fun ratio, and a sky's-the-limit future, Wii is the way to go.
It will never be all things to all people - but it might just be the greatest thing to many people.
think i just found my new siggy...thanks
you say that "If you are unsatisfied with your Wii, then buy another console. You knew what you were getting when you bought it."
I'm pretty damn sure that I'm not the only person who was fooled by Nintendo's ludicrous claim that the Wii is for everyone. Because Nintendo aren't balancing what games are being put out for Wii. The same goes for most other developers that make games for Wii. It seems that for every 1 mature game that gives me a challenge, there is 5-6 party games. As much as I fell in love with the Wii, I need some kind of serious gameplay experience.
