Nintendo Says Wii Just As Long Lived As Xbox 360, PS3
Nintendo came out and said that they believe that the life-span and longevity s just as strong as that of the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PS3. Nintendo UK's manager David Yarnton stated in a recent interview with MCVUK that he believes the Nintendo Wii will continue its huge massive demand and support from third-party publishers. He stated “We are confident as is possible that Wii has a solid future.”
I think if the wii can keep all gamers happy, while still having a variety of games, (like for hardcore gamers and non-hardcore gamers) it will be able to last as long as the 360 and PS3 if not longer.

You have a slight typo in your title and it mislead me to think that Nintendo was stating that all the systems have the same graphical power. Clever you, but I agree with them, there's no reason why Wii can't last as long as the competetion.
sorry, I didn't mean for it to sound like that I changed it now.
With the Wii, Nintendo has made money hand over fist. I think that they'll release a newer Wii system, possibly a Wii2, that will have updated abilities, but still be profited for Nintendo. If this is the case, then Nintendo can stay behind the technology curve, but keep it's casual gamers and make lots of money.
You figure a chip that would allow a "Wii2" to do HD graphics and actually Dolby Digital 5.1 sound would probably be fairly inexpensive.

By anyway, Of course the Wii will last as long a traditional consoles. I don't think Super Smash Bros. Brawl could ever get boring really.
The Wii can continue to last long as long as Nintendo puts out games. If the 3rd parties would make better games then it could easily last as long as the other consoles.
If Nintendo makes a Wii2 in two years, with HD graphics and less crap party games, I may consider returning as a customer.

I have multiple friends who ave ad to get new 360 consoles because their old boxes were overheating. My one friend is on his third 360.
My friends Xbox freezes every once in a while, but so does my Wii.
Ever notice that the people who have to get their Xboxes replaced have to get it done multiple times? I don't know a single person who's only had to replace it once. Yeah. I wonder what that could mean...

The GCN is still living, since the Wii is basically another GCN with Wiimotes.

Actually those two have at least got increased power. I'm not saying the Wii doesn't... we just haven't really seen it yet.
sigh...as does the wii...and maybe you havent seen it but plenty of others have...
