For a long time many thought that Wii was literally uncrackable. Hackers lost precious hair just from attempting to get something to run on Wii which wasn't an official '.wii' file. Many groups, such as WiiLi, who originally set out to crack Wii and put a Linux Operating System on it, were forced to become a Wii homebrew information site, having giving up their efforts.
So what does this mean? Well the group are promising what is called an ELF Loader, which in layman's terms means that we could well be seeing a Wii Linux in the next few months. As well as Linux, we would also naturally be seeing a whole host of Wii homebrew games and apps, similar to DS. This spells a lot of excitement for fans of homemade software. Wii Skype anyone?
The video was pretty cool. First, I thought it was just some way to have a cheat (all hearts) from the beginning of the game but then the last part was like...! I can't wait to see where they take this.
