I genuinely cannot believe that this hasn't been made yet. It takes an Irishman to make it? Toungue

So what's your opinion in the upcoming Election? Which candidate is getting your vote? Do you really believe that it's between "the first black president" and "the first woman president", or are you against that thinking?

Is Barack Obama too inexperienced to hold office? Is Hillary Clinton more interested in balancing checkbooks?

Give your opinions below!

Personally I don't know what I think at the moment. Obama impresses me a lot at the moment. I know many say that he's all talk and doesn't understand what's fully involved, but I can't help but be drawn to him sometimes.

All the same, Hillary is looking like quite a strong electorate. She would without doubt be a strong foundation of office especially considering the current economic wreck in the US.
Wow I was just thinking about making this thread lol

Anyways, Obama has also impressed me alot! Hillary's good cuz she has more experience, but i still like Obama.

Don't know much about the Republicans though, I don't want McCain to win tho cuz he'll continue the war.

Btw u should put a poll up to see whos the favorite candidate in WL.
I hate the way MyBB posts polls separately... Anyway, there's a poll now Smile

Don't worry it's not public.
I've decided that if it comes down to McCain v. Clinton I'm leaving America, simply because it would not be America any longer.

I'm trying to start the Zombie party, where top scientists will resurrect a dead former president to come lead us. I wonder if it's to late to get Abe Lincoln on the ballot...
Hillary strikes me as the polar opposite of Bush. Extremes are never a good thing!

So... I'm going with Obama. The man has the balls to say it's time for change. [EDIT] I would also say Ron Paul, but since he's against the war his Republican brothers threw him under the bus.
Its down to Obama or Clinton for me...This is strange because im registered as a Republican but for this election Im going for the Democrat winner
I hate them all. I don't want to vote for any of them. The one person that i ABSOLUTELY will not vote for is Clinton. she's terrible in a lot of things she's done, she's rude, she's high-and-mighty, appears to be a family woman...but its all for show, folks.

We do need change. The war - we can't pull out; it'd leave us in a very, very bad position, but idk what course of action would be best. I do know that we need to have a president that can provide a focus on our internal affairs that are destroying us, instead of worrying about destroying another country's religion and way of life. If I had to choose (which i will eventually), I'm leaning more toward Obama than anyone else.
Just remember that Obama would be jumping into a massive economical mess Sad
no matter who gets the presidency, they're jumping into a mess. as long as the one who makes it in doesn't just ignore our situation at home, i think it can only get better.
I really do believe the next president will be the winner between Clinton and Obama and I just feel that McCain, while having many backers, is not too appealing to the public. I'm not exactly sure who I want to win right now between Clinton and Obama. I can just imagine the jokes if Clinton wins about Bill being the "first man" and all the future skits on SNL that will happen. There will be many jokes if Obama wins too but I can almost guarantee you that they'll all be centered around his name.

One thing I'm worried about if Clinton wins is that we will lose a lot of credibility (what little we have left) in the eyes of many countries, especially those in the middle east, where women are seen as being lower than the man. Just try opening up a factory in that area and sending a female representative and see how that turns out for you. Obama would also face some possible discrimination due to his race sadly. I guess I'd have to say that I'm learning more towards Obama at the moment but I'll keep a close eye on it all leading up to the vote.
It kind of scares me that Obama's main point as to why he should be president is because he's inexperienced and and someone fresh. I don't want someone inexperienced, and if you listen to his entire speech he gave in Chicago, where as he now points to that to say he was against the war in Iraq...well if you listen to the entire speech, you'll see how he's spun a 1 min clip into something totally false.

I think you'll actually see a dream ticket for the democrats. Hillary for President and Obama for Vice President. That way Mr Obama will get plenty of experience and be able to run for Pres. in 8 years.

As for the republicans, (which I am registered as), McCain really scares me. Every time a hard question is asked to him he pulls the whole "I was a Vietnam POW" thing. Also he really upset me when he went to Iraq last year and told us how much safer it was. Then we found out that 100 soldiers had cleared out the area he was taking pictures in, and they were protecting him, plus there were 3 gunships overhead. It just brought to light how quickly he'll lie to try to get the response he wants.

As for Mike Huckabee...that guys scares me 10X more then McCain. If you look at the things he did as Governor of Arkansas, he's a real nut, and has done some really crazy things. Yeah he seems nice, and he can give one hell of a speech, but lots of people throughout history could sway a crowd...that doesn't mean we'd want them as President.
Bush/Clinton dynasty? I'm really hoping for either McCain or Obama. Quite frankly, I just don't like Hillary. I really wish John Edwards hadn't dropped out. He was my fav. of the candidates.
This goes to show what many have said all along and it's true. You don't vote for the candidate that you like because you don't like any of them. You vote for the one who would screw up the least and hope for the best. I don't think any of them are that great. The thing with Hillary is how she may be treated and how she feels about video games. I've never read her book but I have heard she told some big ones in it. That doesn't mean I trust Obama anymore than her but right now he seems to have less faults than her. This could change later on, next week, or even tomorrow. That's why I'm going to be following everything and I'll decide once I've heard it all.
This is a really tough one for me. Im a Republican and have always rooted for the republicans but this year its different. There isnt a candidate that i like at all. Can we just not have a president or something? Lol. My least favorite is Hillary, which i know Magic can stand aside me on that lol. I hate her so much. Magic has told me that if she became president they would be moving to a different country. McCain is to old and even though i am a republican i dont think this war should continue. Obama is probably the one who i would go with although i am not sure if he is experienced enough.

I do remember one thing that my dad has told me though when deciding who to vote for when it comes time. Ask yourself if the US had another tragedy like 9/11 which of the candidates would you feel safe with and trust that they could make good decisions?

Which is part of the reason I eventually went with Hillary. Obama should be Vice President first. As for Hillary and video games, honestly you shouldn't even consider that a factor.

i personally feel that hillary is quite like bush. they both want crazy expansive gov't. they both in their own special way want to continue and expand the welfare/warfare state. more so even than most of their fellow hamiltonians in the rep and dem parties. if only people would realize that the anti-federalists were correct in all their warnings against large gov't by ten-fold.

i'll be voting for dr paul in the pa primary (registered republican just to do so). will he win? no. but he is the only candidate from the two main parties that represents me to any extent. but hopefully his campaign will help continue to revive classic liberal ideals. this country needs more anarchists and libertarians. i'll vote for dr paul if he decides to run as the libertarian candidate or as an independent, but he has said there is very little chance of that happening.

It really is too bad that the Libertarians aren't a stronger party. Every election I have to choose between economic freedom (Republican) or social freedom (Democrat). Since I usually more concerned about economics, I go Republican, but I'd really like to have more parties (add Libertarians and and some big government/socialist parties and give us a nice four horse race).

What ever happened to state's rights and personal responsibility? Now everyone is content to let the federal government control everything, just so they have someone else to blame for their troubles.

Want to know where you should put your vote?

http://www.theadvocates.org/quiz.html

10 question quiz will give you an idea of which way you lean. The quiz's wording is slightly skewed in my opinion, but if you want a longer quiz, just google around. Think about each question carefully instead of clicking because of the buzz words and you'll remove some of the skew.

I like Obama, I just don't like his pro-choice stance on abortion. I will probably end up voting for him anyways.. but I am probably going to register republican. ironic huh?
I took the quiz Z6. I am a Libertarian.
My personal issues Score is 80%.
My economic issues Score is 60%.
