Hey everyone, as I wait for Brawl, and as I procrastinate on homework, I thought I'd pimp this freebie MMORPG I found.
The story behind it is that it's Korean, localized by K2 network, and plays for free (with cash-bought incentives, none of which hinder those who don't pay a cent).
Before I get to the pros, the cons are:
Some Grind-y quests (killing monsters for minimal gain, numbers ranging from 50-500, usually 250-- don't worry, monster spawn rate is INSANE).
Engrishy NPC speech (improves with each patch, the difference between the last patch and the most current is astounding, however).
Somewhat confusing user interface at first (instructions are few and far between, if you've played WoW, you're gonna be a little spoiled).
Pros!!
3-Character simultaneous control. You pick 3 members of the 5 classes, and they form a team called a "family" in the game (you can hold up to 45 characters right now, and interchange them whenever you like). Right now, my team is a Fighter, a Musketeer, and an Elementalist. Essentially, the other two characters are AI controlled, but you have access to all 3 characters' hotkeys and can assume control of any of them at any point instantly. I've never really experienced this in an MMO before.
It's absolutely beautiful. Great graphics (if you've played WoW, you'll be floored).
Deep, interesting character development. You study stances as you progress in level, and class has several stances. The stances you are able to use dictate which weapons you can use. Essentially, each character can learn several stances, and all damage calculations (that I've seen) are based on percentages, so no stance ever becomes useless.
For example, my musketeer began in Hunter stance, which uses rifles in a standing position, and at 24 I taught him Sniper, which immobilizes him as he kneels on the ground, but is great for boss battles and for grinding. I kinda want to teach him either Enforcer (single pistol) or Duality (two pistols), but I haven't found a great pistol for his level yet.
Fighters have the most options. Swords, one-handed, two, or with a shield; guns, mixed with a sword; polearms, defense and offensive; and another I can't remember at the moment.
Stats are fixed. You will have the same number stats that you begin with. Equipment makes the character, not level. A 40 can foreseeably take on a 60.
Monster spawn rate is insane, you'll never be walking for long stretches searching for something to kill. Chances are, if you're sharing the same piece of land with another guy, you won't be leeching each other's kills.

That's the website. Check it out.
Let's see if I can find a screenshot of my family, the Beaumarchants (I dunno why I went with the french motif).
Attached Pics:
My "Charlie's Angels" of Elementalists-- ice, fire, and lightning. Ice is my favorite.

My best team-- fighter, musketeer, and my ice elementalist. Cherie is in roof guard, where she holds a two-hander above her head, and Antonie is in sniper. Calanthe summoned that demon dude to help us out.
