One of the strengths of Nintendo is its great number of character franchises. SUPER SMASH BROS. However, integrating so many different characters, each with its own personality, is no easy task, especially when characters from other publishers are willing to join the brawl. In addition to the big news that’s coming out of the Microsoft camp at GDC, Nintendo is also set to have a strong presence during the conference. As announced today on GDC Executive Director Jamil Moledina’s blog, there are a trio of Nintendo-related talks scheduled for the event. Takao Sawano, the project lead of Wii Fit, will explain the process of creating a brand new interface for the home console and Takashi Aoyama, the team leader for Nintendo’s Network Group, will discuss the creation and development of the Wii Menu and the upcoming WiiWare project, which is Nintendo’s original downloadable game service. Finally, Masahiro Sakurai will be speaking at the event with a postmortem of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which will be the first postmortem of a major 2008 title.

anybody heard anything else, or maybe just a wishlist of nintendo related announcements we want to see happen...

I've heard very little about what has happened so far for all three systems. More news will come out tomorrow though and I can't wait to see what is in store for all of them.
yeah, hope xplay coverage is good this week,
I'd heart Sakurai if he gave us Brawl DLC... but that's too hardcore for Nintendo.
a Wii headset for online chat.

but like LMX said, too hardcore. we gotta think of the 5 year olds, keep them safe
Exactly. So expect a game about dressing our selves like... Wii Dress. Or something similiar.
I don't want a headset at all for my console, I wouldn't dream of purchasing one....

Just expect talking through, nothing new.
That's you.

Doubles matches in Brawl are going to suck without being able to actually communicate with your team-mate.

We need god-damn headsets.

Brawl...not exactly RTS is it.

You sir, have clearly not played competitively. But I can't hold your lack of understanding against you.

So I'll mention BWii... that could use headset... and its pretty hard to be in denial about that one.
Well we've got Nomad out there so if there's anything big, we'll here about it ^_^

Right!

Brawl, simply it is just a beat 'em up...kick and punch your way through enemies and over complicating things is mehish in my view however on the BWii side of things that is pro dominantly a RTS and does deserve a talk feature for teams.

I never said there shouldn't be a headset, I said that I wouldn't dream of getting oneWink

Again, you clearly don't understand how deep Brawl can be played. But also again, not your fault. You've probably grown up on the view that its just teh button masher. Which is fine......

Okay, good. Well, it'd be your lose. However I dont' think we'll need to worry about it. Nintendo aren't hardcore enough for a headset.
If Pokemon gets a headset, I see no reason the Wii can't have one as well.

good to know, hope he posts frequently

I'll try to post some input. Soon as the conference is done I'll likely eat dinner then come back to the hotel to get ready for whatever. I'll try to post at that point. Even thought to bring a pad of paper to take notes while walking around. Hopefully I'll be a good reporter and keep you guys informed. I'll try =)

Hey, hey, that's my job Big Grin

I agree with the idea of a headset. I love being able to communicate with others when I play Gears. Hopefully NIntendo will do this one thing for us.
Wow, we have an inside guy! Looking forward to hear what you've heard and seen.
Don't get your hopes up people. There isn't going to be anything big at all knowing Nintendo. It'll probably just be some more casual crap but nothing like a hard drive, or headset, or anything we really want.

If it does come then that's great, but I'm just telling you not to expect much so that if nothing big happens you won't feel let down.
