The thing you are missing here Wenis is that Star Wars fans were always going to go see them. Even if it was two hours of George Lucas laughing at us (which for the first two movies it might as well have been). So long as Star Wars in the name they'll see it.
They sucked. The writing was crap, the acting was worse... but the music was good. Suppose that's one positive.
And for the record, the Star Trek thing was an example... though I personally hate it. Its worse than Star Wars in terms of flogging a dead horse.

Meh, Star Trek Voyager is ftl. They have been playing with a dead body to long on stars but I enjoy the odd bit and this new one seems a modernization.
Star Wars cgi i won't see...Like I said, traditional is the only true.
I WANT THE DAMN 'TRUE' STAR GATE STORY CONTINUATION THAT WAS PROMISED D=

No... it really didn't. It was poorly written and acted. Two reasons I enjoy movies. Granted it had the fan service I wanted but that is IT.
Open your eyes. Star Wars is an embarassment now. And Lucas is making it worse but continuing to molester it.
Ditto for me. I couldn't stand episode III.

Especially Darth Vader's hilarious "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" moment. I laughed about that for days.

If your a blind Star Wars fanboi, yes. He does.

Yes all the Star Wars fans will see the movie, which makes it successful, but it doesn't stop it from sucking.
Take for example the live-action DBZ movie thats in the works... it has a 0.1% chance of being of any decent quality, but everyone, and I mean everyone, will see it. Its a train wreck you can't look away from.
The action in the prequels was good, I'll admit it, but that doesn't mean I'll turn a blind eye to the horrible script. I can't blame the actors for the script, but the acting was horrible as well, except for Ewan McGregor (Obi wan) that is. But the script still brought him down, I'd pity him, but he did accept the role, which means he accepted the script.
I'd be all for a new Star Wars Movie, but not with Lucas in charge of the script. And the animation can't be worse then the actors in the prequels...

you know, i don't mind the whole Star Wars thing...the movies kept me happy for a bit. BUT i see this new movie like the TMNT movie that recently came out. when it was live action and actually HAD people in the movies, they were good. but when they came out with the full-animation TMNT, i nearly puked. it completely ruined the turtles for me, and when i got back from the midnight showing i had to wash my mind out with the first two movies.
i get the feeling i might do the same with Star Wars if i actually went to see it...

well just skip this movie and wait for the live action series next year. although I dont know how someone could skip an entire year of brand new star wars stuff.. boggles my mind
02-20-2008, 01:48 PM
although... if they made movies like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within...it would be pretty cool right? I mean, that movie was the ****. there were parts that I could not tell the difference.

Its pretty easy when you take off the blindfold, Wenis. Trust me. And the live action series will be worse.
But hey, more money for Lucas so what does he care?
EDIT: F*** Spirits Within! That's one of the worst movies I have ever seen. If you want to mention a beautiful CGI film then mention FF-VII: Advent Children. My mind nearly melted watching the action in that. If this film gets close to that, I may consider seeing it.

star wars is the most successful movie franchise of all time so I dont see how someone could pass seeing a new one
