I can think of a few reasons:
A) If it's anything like Ep 1, 2 or 3. It'll be poorly written.
B) If they are using the VA's from the crappy animated series we will be experienced half-assed voice acting for a FILM (what works in a TV show doesn't necessarily work for a film)
C) The Star Wars franchise has been overdone.
D) George Lucas is after more money. And he's not getting mine, not that it makes a different as he's guaranteed to make a ton of cash off of this because of how blind his fanboys are.
star wars is successful because there are people that are loyal to the novels and the first few movies. if they're anything like i was with TMNT, they're hoping that it's gonna be something awesome and new to bring to the franchise...yet sadly, i'd have to say that it was a complete failure. but because so many people have the hopes that itll be good, it'll have good sales even though it's crap.
good sales don't mean good movies. neither do good reviews, because most reviewers are skewed in their judgements. we've seen it with games and reviewers that get fired for giving a lead advertising company a low score on a game, and it's happened with movie reviewers as well (hence why i never trust reviews unless its from rottentomatoes or the like). lucas, as well as anyone else beating the life out of something, needs to learn that there comes a time to end everything. would you really want to see another book from Harry Potter? cause i sure as hell don't, and the same goes for Star Wars. they've gotta draw the line somewhere.
although... if they made movies like Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within...it would be pretty cool right? I mean, that movie was the ****. there were parts that I could not tell the difference.
uuh...the only full CG movie i've seen that's even come close to being realistic is Beowulf. there are clear differences between CG and reality, and the border between them will never be crossed, no matter how advanced technology gets. Spirits Within was terrible and didn't sit right with me; same with TMNT and I can only assume SW will be the same as well.

well it was made a while ago. I didn't really know too much about the actual movie before I saw it but I had to say it was impressive. nothing to todays standards ofc
Spirits Within Vs Beowulf ?????
Beowulf wins hands down
there was a weightless scene with the two main chars that is where I was most impressed. other than that it was early day CGI movie standard
Three more days til mediocrity strikes again. And its been awhile since Sith.
yeah don't forget darth Caedus,
ben skywalker
the 3 solo kids
chewy's death,
there's a whole other world still begging to be done into a feature film or game.
You won't see them until Lucas needs to add an extension to his manors.
Did anybody see it yet? If so how was it? I'm planning on catching it sometime this weekend, maybe early next week (can't stand watching a movie in a full theater)
Was looking at the Metacritic reviews. Definitely not.
As a Star Whore (is that the correct term? Star Wars Whore...) I'm obligated to see this, whether it's a piece of crap or not. Once I get my work schedule for the next 2 weeks, I'm gonna go on a night before I have a day off.
I just hope I don't cry... even if the movie itself is terrible, I'll be able to remind myself "just getting more plot to have in my memory banks..."

I think Lucas' wallet laughs in the face of critics.. and more money=more Star wars.
lemon's just bitter, as lemon should be,
i can see your point tho, episodes 1 two and tree wern't up to the story as 4 5 and 6.
kill jar jar.
Star wars has a theme, the first 3 got it, it was darker, moody, life on the edge, the pre's well, they were far too colorfull, for my tastes. BUT, they're a different era,
sure if i was editing them it would have been much better, but peoples vision's change with time. my point is, ep's 1 to 3 were lucas's playground sure. but SW ain't dead, and will never die.
Call it bitterness all you want, but word has it that Clone Wars runs like a movie length cartoon with half the plot. 1, 2, & 3 are pretty bad movies but at least they had more plot. But SW fans will continue to see anything with the SW name... so Lucas doesn't need to worry about good movies anymore.
Has anyone seen it yet? Is it good? Is it crap?
There's not a chance in hell that this movie is worth a darn.

More like the more money he SAVES. I honestly don't think that the quality of this movie will be that great.
:l
Well, if you think about it, the first three in and of themselves were kinda campy but blew everyone away with the effects...in this day and age, you can't ride a film on special effects alone, we've seen it all already. Maybe that's where George Lucas is failing now. I mean, the first three were great don't get me wrong, but they WERE a little cheesy on the dialogue and some of the plot points (like a small army of little Ewoks taking down trained Stormtroopers with advanced weaponry).
Judging by its cartoon nature, I'm assuming it will be sub-par compared to other movies.
