Last night, at the 2008 Game Developers Conference, Nintendo was proudly presented with a Game Developers Choice Award. The event was held in San Francisco at the Moscone Convention Centre.
Nintendo were nominated in three categories for Best Game of the Year (Super Mario Galaxy), Best Handheld Game of the Year (The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass) and Best Game Design (Super Mario Galaxy).
They were able to take home the award for Best Handheld Game of the Year for Phantom Hourglass. This isn't much of a surprise as the winning title still remains very popular with DS fans; especially in the US as it has currently sold 1.1 million units since its release back in October last year. Valve's Portal beat out Super Mario Galaxy for both Game of the Year and Best Design.
