It's been a long time coming but we now have some confirmation of the upcoming Sonic Role Playing Game that is headed to the Dual Screened Nintendo DS.
Some time this year (2008...) we could be playing, the recently confirmed name, Sonic Chronicles; The Dark Brotherhood. The game is being developed by the well known and admired RPG experts BioWare. The award winning BioWare has made many a global hit such as the online RPGMMO Neverwinter, the classic fan favourite Knights of the old republic, 2005 RPG hit Jade empire and the recent highly praised but controversial Mass Effect.
The relationship between SEGA and BioWare will improve the western market which SEGA wish to continue having a hold on with more varied titles likes RPGs. In recent years SEGA has announced partnerships with developers Bizarre Creations, Gas Powered Games, Monolith Productions, Obsidian Entertainment, Planet Moon Studios, Pseudo Interactive and Silicon Knights.

I don't hate SEGA, they just don't know how to make a good Sonic game anymore. Apart from Sonic Rush, I hated the controls for Sonic and the Secret Rings.

I dont think its all sega's (or sonics) fault. Ever since Yuji Naka left Sonic Team sonic games have since been on a rollercoaster to hell. Now remember Sonic Heroes? I think that was the last sonic game Yuji made. That game was great. Good camera, Good control, everything. And it went to the classic 2 stages and a boss idea. Now when Sonic Team took controll of Sonic they sent him down hill with horrible games like Sonic The Hedgehog (360 and PS3). I just dont get how a person can leave such loveable characters like Sonic and Knuckles....(I dont really care that much for tails), and just give him to a crappy company. Maybe Sega finally got a Glowing lightbulb over their heads and will trust sonic to good developers Like Bioware. Maybe they should let Nintendo Produce a game. Nintendo is the best in da biz when it comes to platforming games. Maybe that will get our blue hedgehog on his feet.
the last great Sonic game was Sonic Heroes (setting aside Tails' annoying voice), Sonic the Hedgehog (360 and PS3) was just rushed, hence making the gameplay terrible at times.. and i dont know why we cant freely change into Super Sonic anymore, because that made the older games better! and what the heck happened to the super emeralds and Hyper Sonic?! seeing him again would make buying the game worthwhile.. at least thats what i think

Sonic Adventure 2 was the last Sonic game I played and enjoyed. I have frankly stayed away from purchasing Sonic games since.
Adventure 2 > Every sonic game since.
Sonic and Knuckles > all those Sonic games.
But that isn't saying much... Dogz or Catz > New Sonic games.
Sonic 3 and Knuckles >> Every other Sonic games
Sonic 2D Games >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.Sonic 3D Games

ah well.. Sonic Adventure was one of the best 3D games and then it kinda went downhill
