No I'm only basing my decision on X-Play's opinion, I'm also going by the score gft posted. Those aren't too promising either because I'm not sure I would be too into this game. And most of the times I tend to agree with X-Play and IGN's reviews.
So I finally got it. I must say, I am completely impressed. The game has a little trouble differing from horizontal strikes and diagonal strikes, but after practise it works like a charm. The bosses are probably the best thing about this game. The only real problem is that the combat moves really fast sometimes, like the golem battle, but it was still really early in the game so, you know.
And to end all comments, this is an incredibly deep story, on par with any regular Dragon Quest game, and that is high praise indeed.
So is it going to be a 40ish hour game?
Well, since it's just a spin-off game, you better not take your chances with it. You can tell without playing it won't be any good.
It should have just been cancelled. They need to stop with the Dragon Quest games. Just wait for Dragon Quest IX.
So is it going to be a 40ish hour game?
I've read you can get through the game in about 8 hours. They're saying it's fun as an arcade style game, but way too short to be any type of real RPG game.
I have not found all of the hidden things yet and am at 19 hours. Still mirror bosses to defeat who own me in less than a minute.
So going back to what I was asking, who else has played it and what's their take on it?
