Not much I can say about this really. If i said what I really think then I'd just go on.

Disappointing and embarrassing really, isn't it Nintendo...
I just saw this article, and it's along the exact same lines as the one posted for Wiiloaded, but I think it takes a bit more realistic look at how some gamers are feeling...

I still like MKWii and Wii Fit, and honestly I'm not stressed about Super Smash Bros. Brawl considering I've nobody to play it with. Online is only so good, up to the point where you wish the person was sitting beside you so you could yell at them when you got a smash move. We don't even have voice chat to compensate. I'm with LMX, I'm buying a PS3 later this year (summer IF I get a job, which looks quite likely!) or else Xmas 2008 at the latest. I like PS3, even if the load times induce migraines.

But MKWii is also a multiplayer game. Wouldn't you not have anyone to play it with as well?

Very true, but Mario Kart online wouldn't be as much of a lonely feeling to play on my own as SSBB Sad

Oh wow, I hate Reggie.

Giving us a piece of casual garbage and a game that was only announced less than a year ago before a game that has been hyped since the Wii's launch?! WTF?!

Most of the comments are expected, but most people are blaming Reggie when he really isn't at fault. Destructoid's article made Reggie's remarks sound more harsh than it actually is. He's only the messenger...

D: *pats Cosmic and gives him a cookie*

Reggie = Ken Kutagari.

Reggie Fils-Aime is 47 years old, so let's not blame Destructoid for his stupid/inconsiderate comments. Nintendo is playing games with the different regions, and people are starting to see it for what it is.

Reggie's age has nothing to do with what W_R said, and if something is stupid and overblown, it's stupid and overblown, regardless of how Nintendo is messing with them.

I think it does Kindrik. We always blame everyone else for what Nintendo does or says wrong. It's easy for you and I living in North America to not give a toss for what happens in the other Regions, but a spokesperson for Nintendo should view the situation a little more delicate, and him being 47 years old lends to the idea that we don't blame a website like Destructiod for what a man of his age and position says.

Just playing Devil's advocate here, but I guess Reggie was just doing his job. His main responsibility is to NoA so when people are maybe a little disappointed that MK Wii and Wii Fit are coming out a little later for them when compared to the other regions he just wants to try and soften the blow a little and make the North American fans feel better about everything. Of course, it really doesn't come across well at all to the Europeans and Aussies.
Update with a clarification from 1UP.
That sounds a little bit better but not much. So if they're going to get Mario Kart Wii and Wii Fit earlier than SSBB and they are supposed to be getting that at least by the spring, should they be getting those two right about...NOW?
OMG WAIT!

NoE COMMENTED!

"A release date for Super Smash Bros. Brawl in Europe has not been announced."

Yay for NoE... clearly doing their job.............

*sighs heavily and puts more paper under his Wii*

Fix'd

Glad they clarified this. I think Destructoid blew that way out of proportion.

I wont be surprised if they found Reggie with a wii-mote in the chest tomorrow morning...

I still stand behind what I've said.

We've went from a possible season date for release to no release....*sigh*

Also Reggie isn't head of NoA for no reason, of cause he has knowledge of power within the company and not just a messenger.
Lets just agree: Reggie is inept and should give up his job. He's been an embarassment for the last 12 months at the very least (and that's if I'm being generous).
naw. He shows NA luff. Thats why I show him. Happyness.
I think it's safe to say that Nintendo needs to do a complete overhaul on their localization dept, b/c clearly they don't have enough people to do the job. And why would Reggie know about PAL anyway? He covers NA... not Europe or Australia. o.O
