The rumble-ready DualShock 3 controller should be ready for US audiences on April 15th, according to a report by Kotaku. This release would coincide with the release of the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Retailers have supposedly just received this date from the Destination PlayStation meeting.

It's not something on my MUST BUY list, but I'm sure this will make lots of PS3 fans very happy.
I don't understand why it's taking so long for it to hit the stores in the U.S. There's no need for any kind of translation or change in voltage or anything. What's with the hold up. When I got mine I wasn't even aware that N.A. didn't have them yet. I saw on another forum where people are going crazy about not having them and some have imported them at a ridiculous price. I love mine and all but I wouldn't do something that crazy over them. I would recommend anyone who plans on getting more controllers to pick up the DS3. The weight feels just right and it's nice to have rumble back.
I wonder if Sony is just gearing up to put Dual Shock 3 in all their PS3 packaging and want to get a large supply ahead. That's really the only thing that really makes sense, because like you said, yours is the same as the ones the States will be getting. Except ours won't have Hello Kitty on them.

Well I have no idea who Keri Keri Keropee is, but I do think they're ramping up production of dualshock 3 so that they don't run out when some of the big hitter games come out later this year.
ah iv been dying to get my hands on one of these but im not really willing to part with hundreds of dollars to import one....hurry up and stop being lame sony...

I just saw that the new $499 80GB PS3 will come bundled with Metal Gear 4 as well as a DS3 controller.
