Mario and Sonic at the Olympics has managed to win the gold again this week, by clinging on to the number one slot in the UK All Formats, All Prices video game chart. for the third week running now. SEGA are celebrating the high selling title's victory at the top as the Wii version accounted for a massive 58% of the total sales.

Considering there were several possible big titles newly released this week, Mario and Sonic have remained seated upon their thrown and refuse to give up the crown. Even FIFA Street 3 couldn't unseat them from the top spot this week; with the game making its slightly disappointing debut at 11th place, whereas it's previous two titles managed to at least make it into the top three. Also, Wii Play is still managing to hang in there, taking the 5th spot, which is pretty impressive for a game which has been out over a year now.

It looks like Wii software is selling very positively on the charts at the moment. I'm sure Nintendo will be pleased with themselves. One disappointing thing was that new Wii title, Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, only just scraped the top 40 making with its debut at number 37. Not a good start, but this shouldn't stop Nintendo also celebrating their success with the Wii lately after seeing recent software sales numbers. And if SEGA get lucky, Mario and Sonic could remain at number one until next week; especially since the game has received so much positive feedback from fans so far. Good luck to them!

I have to say that I quite enjoyed Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. It's a pretty good party game and most of the events are fun. I wouldn't touch Sonic Raiders with a 50 foot pole though.
This just shows that Sonic isnt the problem..its sonic team and their crappy creativity. I just wanna see sonic in games like brawl and future Smash games.
hey mana, i heard the controls were tough (xplay) do you say its fun and a good buy, learning curve?
I've actually played it too and it can be fun at times. Some challenges are easier then others. Archery has a learning curve, not to steep though. I enjoyed the trampoline and relay races the most. Would I pay full price for it though, HELL NOSmile
The games for the most part are pretty easy. When I got it I played with a couple friends and we didn't read the instruction booklet (real men don't!) and we just started playing events and we didn't run into too much trouble. The shooting ones are a little tricky but you'll probably get the hang of it half way through or at least by the 2nd time you play it. It's mostly a matter of getting the timing right, when to start a jump or whatnot.
I don't see what was so great with it. I admit, it is fun, but I think it gets old pretty quickly.
Casual audience? That's why it's sales numbers are so high. When I played this I really enjoyed it...but then again I've only played it once so I can't really give my opinion on it.

Yes it does, I wad bored with it after an hour or two.

I still can't believe they wasted the first sonic/mario game on olympic sports. They could have made a real cool adventure game out of it.
Well there's always Brawl coming up and Sega needs to get to work on F-Zero Wii.
I'm not sure if you guys are playing alone or not. I'd never play it alone because I'd be bored out of my mind. It's best to play with 3 other friends and then you'll have a lot of fun and it's more competitive that way.
No I was playing it with my 8 year old cousin, 8 year old niece, and 7 year old niece. Not much in terms of competition but they did manage to beat me in a couple of events.
For shame! lmao, just kidding. I actually got beaten by my neice and nephew playing a game on the GC in the past. I can't remember the name but it was a party game about Rugrats and I had never played it. Every time they did something cool and I asked how they did it they'd pull the "I don't know. I did it by accident." It stops being an accident after you do it 3 to 4 times in a row...
