According to the latest stats from magazine publisher Enterbrain, Nintendo's Wii outsold Sony's PlayStation 3 in Japan by almost 4-to-1.

By February 24, 331,627 Wii units had been sold in the region, compared to 89,131 PlayStation 3's, reports Reuters.

Nintendo's home console has been outselling Sony's machine almost continuously since both became available on the market.

Although Sony's sales are improving – and by no means as poor as Microsoft's Xbox 360 in the region – the Wii continues to prove itself the dominant console.

Japan still loves Nintendo it seems, and is Brawl still selling good over there?

Brawl is still selling very well in Japan I believe.

Mario Kart's soon to follow. That's like a triple threat. At least in Japan. Once you go outside Japan I think we're still in a grey area.

no grey area in US, cant find a wii anywhere, constantly sold out

and this whole thing with retailers saving stock for brawl release if true could mean a big bump on release day

not sure if it will be 4 to 1, but i would bet a comfortable margin

The guy at Toys R Us (lol) told me to come in at 11am to pick up Brawl because there will supposedly be a crazy amount of people rabbing Wii consoles at 10am. Sucks for me.

It's things like this that make me look back and chuckle at the comments made by Sony and MS trolls that the Wii is nothing but a fad... Sales woulda bottomed by now if it were true...

Funny story too, the Sony buff at work who hates the DS and the Wii... We got to talking and I have him sold to a point that if Nintendo releases an epic Zelda title whether it be LttP remake or something totally new in the TP stylization that he would sell his PS3 and buy a Wii... So let's just wait and hope the N rocks our faces off with something that is just THAT ridiculously awesome...

Well lets hope it's not REDICULOUSLY easy, like TP.

Yeah, the Wii is pretty much revolutionizing the industry around the globe.
