Here's the story according to some (apparently) leaked info.
Someone belonging to "rainfall films" posted a couple .gif files of the soon-to-be-released trailer for the zelda movie.
The movie (according to whomever uploaded it) is licensed by Nintendo, however it's being funded by IGN, who hired an independent film company to shoot it.
they finished filming January and are now working with industry professionals for editing it.

To be fair, get the right set of writers behind this and it could be awesome. The Zelda games may not have strong plotlines but ANY film-maker goes out to make a direct game to movie transition has ALREADY failed unless your dealing with MGS (which already lends itself to a movie)
