While it might not be much of a deal, Amazon currently has
FRESH DUALSHOCK 3 controllers listed at $50 (pre-order only, of course). From the looks of the webpage, the deal looks permanent, at least, until pre-orders end (MSRP is $54.99). The Sixaxis has been cut down to about $44, so we can assume they're trying to create a hierarchy of controllers. A fiefdom, if we may. Anyway, if you're looking for a DualShock 3 pre-order, this is probably good news for you.

For all those people who really want the DualShock 3 controller...this is your chance to get it a little cheaper then retail.
Thats how much Brawl costed me. lmao.
How much heavier are the DUALSHOCK3s?
Expensive toys of destruction. Vibration ftw.

I looked an amazon to get you an exact figure, but they give both the dual shock 3 and standard basic controller a weight of 2 pounds. You can be assured that the dual shock 3 will be slightly heavier, because when I got my PS3 I was surprised at how light the controller was, but got use to in, and probably won't pick up the newer one.
They are a bit heavier and have a nice feel to them. The added weight makes the controller better in my opinion. It feels stronger and the less like a light piece of plastic.
I didn't like the six axis at all when I first starting using it, but I've grown use to it and really enjoy it alot. I already have 2 six axis controller and have no intention of picking up a dualshock 3 unless something happens to one of the other controllers down the road. BTW I'm also a stickler for battery life, and I'm sure the six axis will do a little better with that.
...too expensive for me. Beside, no rumble isn't all that bad.
I know what you mean gft, in the start it feels plasticky, but later just feels really great.
It's amazing how much you actually miss vibration in games like MotorStorm and Fight Night, even though you assume you won't care.
Yeah, if you try out the DS3s then you'll want them even more so steer clear if you have on intention on buying them. If you do need 2 more controllers down the road and the price drops a bit you really should pick them up though.
