When Reggie talks, people listen. Usually because he has something to say about the state of your favorite games. If you're a regular viewer of Gametrailers TV then this should be old news to you, but for the rest of us here's what happened.
Speaking to the show's host Geoff Keighley, Reggie mentioned that Nintendo would have big news at E3 and that the gamer audience would be very pleased. More promising is that Reggie made the distinction between the hardcore gamer and Nintendo's expanded audience meaning that whatever Nintendo has up its sleeve, it won't be another Wii Play or Wii Fit.
Fils-Aime went on to mention that Wii owners would also be getting a blockbuster title this Christmas season. He wouldn't go into any more detail so I guess we'll just have to wait until this year's E3. What big first party franchises to you think Nintendo plans to send our way at E3 this year?

Well, this is good news, although I should reserve judgement for when it is delivered. Let me speculate: Pilot Wings, Kid Icarus, Punchout!?
I played a bit of Kid Icarus a few days ago and it was pretty fun. Since Nintendo seems to have a knack for taking games from 2D to 3D I'd love to see what they could do with Kid Icarus considering Pit's place in Brawl.
I think Nintendo fans would love a new Kid Icarus game. I don't think this mystery game will match Brawl standards, as Reggie tends to exaggerate a bit, but it could be good. I doubt it will be Animal Crossing as not so long back Nintendo said the had no plans to release an MMO on Wii anytime soon. I'm thinking it may be a Zelda game as there has been one in development for a while now. Here's hoping.
At least he doesn't exagerate as much as Peter Molyneux. -_-;
I would put my Money on Animal Crossing, although Kid Icarus would be just as awesome.
OMG im wishing for either a full-fledged 3D Kid Icarus Game (a-la-Zelda), or another Zelda game!!!
i'd be pretty happy with Animal Crossing. and maybe some new info on the next Zelda game at this E3 also..

I thought that they said they don't want any MMO games on their system? If so then I don't see how they could make Animal Crossing p2p but this is Nintendo we're talking about. I'm not even going to think about this announcement so that I can avoid being disappointed. I hope Nintendo surprises me but I wouldn't bet on it.

I get the feeling that the only reason why Nintendo made p2p was for a game like Animal Crossing. I doubt they're really going to go the full fledged MMO route but something similar that still fits into Nintendo's conservative online strategy.
I would freak out if he announced a Kid Icarus game! I also really want a new zelda game. I have started playing twilight princess again and I am now craving a new zelda game!

A Kid Icarus game would be awesome. I'm even guessing it could be the pokemon adventure rpg (with no shadow pokemon), Star Fox. Maybe a SSB for the DS?
E3 this year is in July?
E3 is in July from now on? Remember... new E3 set up? I heavily doubt a SSB for DS with Brawl only just having come out recently.
