Did any Mario Kart players hate snaking in Mario Kart DS? Well if so you will be relieved to hear that snaking is about to get chucked out the window. When 'Official Nintendo Magazine UK' recently reviewed Mario Kart Wii and gave it a worthy 94%, they also confirmed that snaking has been slightly changed this time around.

"The second big difference (in Mario Kart Wii compared to the rest of the series) is the removal of snaking. Ever since the N64 game, practically every Mario Kart game has included the ability to get a speed boost by waggling the controls left and right as you powerslide. This has finally been scrapped, and now your speed boost is determined by how long you can hold the slide."

Oh happy days, Nintendo have realised that too many people have been spamming the snaking ability. So now with snakers eliminated, online matches will be a lot more pleasant and enjoyable. Thank you Nintendo.

That's wicked. I hated Snakers in MKDS.
That may of earned them a sale.
I don't really mind snaking on the DS, but it will probably be annoying on the Wii. Especially when you'll be playing against another 11 racers.
Very well written Smile
i really dont care for the snaking but i dont care if its in there or not as long ias i get to play

Ah, but have you ever played it online? It can be quite frustrating with snakers around...

Snakers suck so hard. In MKDS they look like there disappearing.

Also its like Wave dashing for Brawl taken out.

yes i know the snakers made me wanna destory my system lol but yea ur right id say kick the snakers away cuz we dont need them lol

At least Nintendo had the sense to ditch snaking and make it more enjoyable.
I don't see why people complain about snaking, I mean, its part of the game; anyone can do it. Instead of complain about it do it yourself.
If you don't, then don't. Its your own choice if you want to hinder yourself.

Besides the point, I won't miss it.
I don't really see it as part of the game entirely. I see it much like wavedashing in Smash to a degree. Besides, snaking doesn't involve much racing skill and I don't see how you could really have fun doing that. Sure you might win but so what? It's not like there are any real stats that are kept.
But its funny how they do this, and take wavedashing out of Brawl.

Snaking/Wavedashing taken out.

AWWWW KINDRIK SAID WAVEDASHING.. *must read posts above his*
dammit, now I have to learn some real skill.
true snaking might be part of the game, but if it was taken out, evryone would b losers lol
hmm, I guess snaking was too hardcore for Nintendo. how gay.
I've tried snaking before but I also found it not very fun. I don't care either way though if they take it out or don't. If online play is anything like Brawl's so far then I won't be worrying about the computer using it against me offline because that's where I'll be playing it.
*moves the Mario Kart figure closer towards Nintendo's casual audience*
A casual move or not, I'm really happy snaking is gone. And Nintendo considers MK a bridge game. Between casual and core.
I don't see why people seem to dislike this. Snaking was so retarded, it's not even fun. Plus when was Mario Kart ever considered a hardcore game? It's like a party game imo. It's just a lot of fun, it's not a serious racer...I think getting rid of snaking is a great thing.
