So, who knew this Metal Gear Solid 4 game was going to be so popular?
Konami's Japanese site has the recently revealed steel PS3 bundle listed as "Sold Out." Yep, before this baby is even on store shelves, it's sold out. Pre-orders are gone. The bundle includes a limited edition version of MGS4, a DualShock 3 controller and a steel colored system.
Importers are going to have to resort to more desperate (and expensive!) means to get their hands on one of these babies. Will the upcoming US bundle meet the same kind of demand? Only time will tell.

My God... this game... thinking about it makes every other game fade to nothing... I just replayed Snake Eater. Best game ending ever.
I'm not a HUGE MGS fan, but I think this will be a game to pick up. I like having the choice to fight who I want and I can be on one side, the other side, or no one's side. That's really different from the MGS games I've played or tried to play in the past, so I think the openness has me hooked.
That's a niiiiice color. I'd buy it just for the color alone. No wonder it's sold out. :p
The two things in that bundle are what I really want, a PS3 and MGS4, I really want a PS3, or 360 even, cause the Wii just isn't doing it for me right now, even with Brawl.
Well I'm not sure what the tipping point would be for you, but your guaranteed to get another PS3 price drop this year...and I believe MGS4 comes out in June.
Yea, hoping to get one this year, already got 50 bucks saved up, it's not much, but you gotta start somewhere. Also once I get this part time job ($8 an hour) at a small game store called GamePower I should have enough money buy MGS4 and a PS3 buy June, but thats only if I get the job.

Remember that this Japanese bundle is for the Silver PS3. I have no doubt that you'll be able to get a Black 80gb PS3 with MGS4, and Dual Shock 3 from stores like Best Buy.
Even so, this is still a MGS4 bundle. Despite it being a white PS3, I'm worried about the availability of this bundle in the US (and, like I've said before, I've had money troubles, so me getting the money for this before June would be a problem for me). Mainly, this is because I'm interested in backwards compatability with the 80GB version, which, I heard, is hard to find. (I'm not sure if this is true or not, as how I've just begun to do research on this sytem. Could anyone clarify this?)
I'd buy this game even if it was the same as the other MGS games. Because MGS is just that great of a franchise.
I believe the 80gb models have software emulation. Also remember that the 80gb MGS4 bundle is replacing the Motorstorm bundle, so I think there will be plenty to go around, either in June, or whenever you can get the money together.
The one in Japan is a special edition Silver model which was only sold in very limited quanities.

This bundle is uber popular and for many reasons that you guys noted earlier. Also there was a chance that you could get wireless headphones if you ordered this bundle from Japan as well. Too bad we can't get them stateside.
