Mario Kart Wii is set to race across North America on April 27th. But for the first time ever Mario Kart is going to be packed in with a peripheral, yes another one. Since the Wii's launch it seems every man and his dog is inventing new add-ons for the Wii remote. Just to name a few, we have; swords, daggers, bats, rackets, knives, spoons, golf clubs, guns, shields, wheels, controller grips and Boxing gloves. I think you get the point.

Well it's obvious that the peripheral packed in with Mario Kart is in fact a steering wheel, you place the Wii Remote into the plastic shell and steer as if you are actually driving a Kart. While this doesn't appeal to everyone; Nintendo has decided to sell the wheel separately. To purchase it without a copy of Mario Kart is going to cost you $14.99. Is that price worth a plastic shell?

That's not too bad...I mean. Most other peripherals are way more expensive then that...and are plastic like all peripherals.
I think the people who really want the wheel are the people who want kart.

I really want Kart, I just don't see much sense in paying $14.99 for another plastic shell. Smile

Seems reasonable, I won't be picking one up but I always have the option.
There's just no point really...

Really? I've gotten my DS headset for 10 USD. And that has, believe it or not, electronics. It's still a bad price for a weak peripheral.

I don't even want the wheel that will come with the game. I guess it's still good if someone out there actually likes it though and wants to pick up another one. Hell, I'll try to sell the one I "have" to get half price to someone who wants another one!
Seems very expensive for a piece of plastic that simply holds the Wii-mote and does nothing else. I could see paying $9.99 for it if it had a functioning horn feature, but the way it is...$4.99 should be it's top price.
thats not a bad price, as long as it doesn't translate to £14 when it hits the uk.
cus that would be a right rip off.

on the subject of wii mote periferals, any of you with them,
do they make the experiance any better than it already is?

or is it simply a gimick for the kids.
$14.99 isn't a bad price actually...too bad I won't be picking one up. Toungue
Good thing I politiked it at walmart and got me some free wheel luvins
How much is it in the UK? Toungue
The Premium Wii Steering Wheel is better, it fits between your legs or has suckers for attaching to tables and laminate flooring. About £15.00. Cant buy from this website yet but it gives you an idea.
