yeah I dont really see it happening but this would probably send my social life into a never ending abyss. Lol. I would probably end up playing the adventurer every single time since Link is made of Pure Win.
hm. interesting concept, although idk if i'd actually play it. it'd feel weird as a zelda game.
This would fit in tho the Reggie waring/hot air thing.
yea id prolly be the adventurer, but id also try out goron cuz i hate them in TP lol
I love MMORPGs as well but not sure if this would work. It would be possible but I'd have to see more first and this is most definitely fake.
I think it would be pretty awesome if they did it well, it would be a nice change for the Zelda universe, they could make it with a story that has nothing to do with Link, Zelda and Gannondorf which could be interesting. Other playable races could be Deku Scrubs/Kokiri, the Bird Race from Wind Waker (I can't think what they're called) or you could be a Moblin.
Anyway I doubt it will ever happen but we can dream can't we?
They could set up a type of World of Warcraft format with two opposing factions. The one faction would be the Hyrulian Alliance consisting of Gorons, Zoras, Hyrule's soldiers, etc, and the other faction would be followers of Ganondorf including the Gerudo, Moblins, skeletons and other such popular reoccurring enemies. If you wanted it one sided, just play the alliance characters and add in a few extra minor races like Kokiri or Deku. Having the adventurer class would be a bad idea. The majority of people would obviously pick it which would kill the balance of the game. Also, how could a Goron be as strong as the Hero of Time?
It'd be a great concept, but pretty unlikely. Zelda is almost exclusively first party with the exception of the old handheld games which were made by Capcom I believe, but the only console Zelda games made by a company other than Nintendo were the atrocities made for the CD-i, but those didn't really happen.
For the story, have it begin with a battle between Link and Ganondorf/Ganon, and maybe Zelda. The two/three vanish in a huge burst of light at the climax of the fight and are gone for some time. The forces of Ganondorf are left and take up the fight in his absence, but with Link missing, the unified forces of Hyrule must band together to save their world. Take the obligatory elemental temples, multiply by 10 to have other various dungeons, and you have a good start on a Zelda MMO. I'm not so sure about the RPG part. Leveling wouldn't be hard to add in, but equipment (like better armor or sword) might be a bit much for Zelda since inventory equipment (hookshot, boomerang, etc.) play a much bigger role. Then again, action games are typically a bad idea for MMOs because of the lag issue. It may actually work better converting it into a time based RPG setup.
There are tons of things to work out to create a good Zelda MMO, as there are with any MMO, but it's far from impossible. In my opinion, it's one of the easier games to convert to an MMO.
That would be pretty sweet, but I don't know how it would turn out.
