I use the GC Controller.
I told myself I was gonna use the Wii/Chuk scheme, but never ended up doing so.

First time I played I tried it with the wiimote sideways, and I guess it's stuck.
I don't think I'll try out the other ways as I'm happy with this and playing it another way would feel weird.

GCN controller ftw.
Oh, and you may want to make this a poll, btw.
Wiimote + 'Chuck
Quite easy to learn (perhaps optimal if you're new to Smash), though there are some problems.
Having the D-pad to access jumping, throwing, and shielding wasn't a fantastic idea, as you sometimes push the wrong button. (What happens if you wanted to jump to dodge an opponent's attack, and you grab instead?)
That said, it's a great control scheme, and easy to use.
Wiimote
Not much to say other than it's hard to use.
The shield button (B) is on the bottom, so you have to press it with your left index finger, so that's kind of annoying; the D-pad controls all movement, and as such, it's hard to fall through floors... You can't push the button "harder" as you would the control stick, so you have to double-tap it. But quick-smashing with 1+2 is quite useful.
It works, definitely, but it takes some time to learn.
Classic Controller
A nice controller with a scheme identical to that of the Gamecube controller, though it feels like it's going to break at any moment...! (It's so THIN!)
GCN controller
What can I say? It's the classic way to Smash.

The edit of epicness.
Okay, so I gave every control a try....Wiimote + 'Chuck

GC Controller for me too. I have tried the Wiimote sideways but didn't like it. I haven't tried the Wiimote/Nunchuk yet though and need to do that.

GC controller. I find the other methods awkward and unnatural.

that's how i feel with the Wiimote/Nunchuck combo.

First time i played was with wiimote sideways (only option at E4all), but when it released, I immediately dusted off the old wavebirds. Lately I've been trying to master the remote/nunchuk combo with shake-to-smash enabled.

I originally bought some 3rd party GC controller I could use with it...and it worked, sorta...then in the middle of a brawl I broke the damned thing lol. the top hat came off of the joystick so I had to finish the brawn with the jagged points digging into my thumb. Now I use the Wii Remote/nunchuck combo and I'm pretty comfortable with it.

I use the GCN control, all other methods feel too weird for me and don't work. Classic Smash style for Brawl.

I usually use the GC controller, but I also like the Wii remote/nunchuck option.

I use the GC Controller. I haven't really tried the other options.

I've tried all the methods except the Classic Controller, and they all work GREAT.
But i use the GC controller since its the one im most used to cuz of Melee.

We're all stuck in our ways. Plus, my GCN controller doesn't run on batteries.

What can be said. GCN control is just win.

True but wavebirds do as well d:

Lol, yeah really. I'm glad I don't have to waste all that battery power all the time

I finally tried using the Wiimote/Nunchuck combo since it was the only method I hadn't tried. It was ok but still not nearly as good as the GCN controller to me so that's what I'm sticking with. At least I gave them all a chance.
