The R4 may have flown under the Big N's radar for a while, but they finally gave the DS a check-up and found a nasty tumour sitting in one of it's slots.

Nintendo, backed by over 50 developers, have filed lawsuits against 5 Japanese companies selling these "back-up" devices, which are clearly being sold, and bought to play illegal ROMS on the DS.

Amazon still sells R4s on their site, but Nintendo will make quick work to stiffle any means of aquiring these piracy tools.

Once this is done maybe they'll start targeting M3s, and Cyclo DS xD

I doubt very seriously that they'll win this one. Those can be used for homebrew and while they are mainly used for pirated games the creator of the product does not advertise that as a reason to get it. They'd have to ban all CD burners too because someone could use them to burn copies of games.
