Now before you get too excited about a new channel for the Wii, let me give you the bad news.  There is a new channel out for the Nintendo Wii but unfortunately, it's only available in Japan at the moment.  Please don't kill the messenger or reporter in this case.  I also got excited when I first saw a new channel was available and was wondering why my little blue light wasn't illuminated.  There is no word on whether or not we will see this stateside but we can only hope.

What can you do with this channel exactly?  Well, for starters you can use it to view digital photos from the Wii and print them out.  No, there won't be a Wii printer to do this but instead they will be printed through Fujifilm.  Nintendo of Japan has made a deal with them to set up this service over in Japan and there are a couple ways you can use it.  You can print a single picture if you'd like for 28 cents or you can order Wii Photo Books.  The normal Photo Books will cost around $15 and the deluxe Mario-themed ones will cost about $23.

Pictures aren't the only thing you can print either.  You can also print meishi or a type of Japanese business card.  Along with printing the card in multiple colors, you can also have your Mii adorned on it.

If you'd like to know more about this then all you have to do is watch the video on the right and make sure that you've invited your Japanese friend over to translate for you.  Let us know what you think about this new channel and whether or not you are interested in having it on your Wii.

Interesting, but I like the fact that I can print stuff off my PS3 my simply hooking a printer up to it and not going through a 3rd party. Also, why wouldn't someone just take their SD card to a department store where they can surely get a better price? I like how Nintendo is putting out these channels, I just wonder how much they'll be used.
