Full Version: Square Enix to stay multiplatform

Many Nintendo fans have felt let down by Square Enix in recent years for many reasons. We have been receiving some secondary games like the Crystal Chronicles and have not had any of the big RPG titles one would expect we would receive. They have been giving us some ports for the Nintendo DS but because of this we're losing the originals as they're not getting VC releases. With the square Enix party approaching in just over a week, a new statement has been issued:

“We always consider the territory and hardware for titles, and I just want to make sure that we’re neutral about dealing with companies. …We’re now in the age of the multi-platform, but depending on age and territory, users have different tastes. Therefore it’s very difficult to just deal with one company or one hardware platform - in order to offer our product to the vast majority of gamers we need to deal with multiple companies and platforms.” - Square Enix president Yoichi Wada

It sounds promising so hopefully the Wii will be getting some big Square Enix titles!

I want BIG games to come from Square Enix for the Wii. Really..

I don't care if the graphics are bad give me a good story, and maybe a couple discs and im set.
More Crystal Chronicles. Woo.
Playing FF-IV has got me back into Final Fantasy for the first time in years and now I no longer want spin-offs like Chrystal Chronicles or My Life as a King. I want a full Final Fantasy game or something similar.
I'm currently hoping to get III and IV as soon as possible.

I really enjoyed IX after beating it recently.
I'm probably in the smaller group but I prefer the old turn based system instead of the live action system. I can remember many times having to run to do something in the middle of a fight like take a piss, answer the phone, or make a sandwich and I'd just put down the controller and walk away from the game without pausing or anything. I've become a lazy gamer and like to play in a more relaxing way now.
I demand my FF-VII remake for PS3. To put the ball back in Sony's court, like you said you would.

Yeah, woo. More Crystal Chronicles for Nintendo. If you want a full FF game your gonna need a PS3 or (apparently) 360.
Im really looking forward to Star Ocean 4 luvv the series
I never really got into it. Probably due to my general dislike of Enix's lame work.

Yea, and now that I have a PS3, I'm looking to get the next FF game, my first FF game just like MGS4 was my first Metal Gear game, what's the next FF XIII? *Is a newb*

FF-XIII is going to PS3/360. Versus-XIII is coming to PS3 (via KH + AC teams). SquareEnix party in a couple of days is said to have an announcement that'll put the ball back in Sony's court and a big announcement regarding FF-VII.
when excatly is the party?
August 2nd and 3rd I believe (ie. this weekend). They've announced the majority of the line-up. No sign of Crystal Chronicles.
It won't be long now before we find out what's in store for us. I'm really hoping for a FFVII remake as well but we'll have to wait and see.
I thought that first trailer they had for the new Crystal Chronicles game looked pretty cool. But then it just kinda...vanished. Just like a lot of Wii games after E3 2006...
