A company called Netblender is working on new technology that will allow enhanced communication between Blu-ray players and Apple handheld devices such as the iPhone. Dubbed BD Touch, this new tech will turn an iPhone into a remote control for Blu-ray players.

More interestingly, it will allow the device to interact directly with BD movies by: displaying extra movie info on the iPhone, maintain a database of your movie collection, and obtain digital copies of movies on a Blu-ray disc. This last feature sounds quite similar to Sony's very own portable copy. This makes us wonder if the new tech will be integrated into the PS3 or if it will only hit other Blu-ray players. A formal announcement regarding the new tech will be made tomorrow. We'll know soon enough then.

Kind of interesting.  I think iPhone users would probably enjoy being able to watch their favortite Blu-ray movies on their iPhones.  Plus this ability might get another segment of consumers interested in Blu-ray.
I have an iPhone and this would be pretty freaking cool. I have to admit that my cheap ass has yet to buy the blu ray remote that is sold separately.
