EA released their incredibly dry Q1 financial report for investors last night. Nestled amongst the self-congratulations and expectations for the future lie some interesting numbers regarding console-specific income. Put bluntly, the PS3 is EA's largest source of income right now, and has been since the beginning of 2008. Not bad for a console Riccitiello regrets backing.

For those of you who can't get enough of numbers, here's a breakdown how much, in millions, each console brought to the EA table at the end of Q1 2008 (April - June) . Bracketed numbers show the amount of income generated during the same period last year, followed by the percentage increase. For more details, including plenty of fun tabulated data, check out the report for yourself.

PS3: 139mln (13mln, 969%)
360: 81mln (47mln, 72%)
PS2: 79mln (61mln, 30%)
Wii: 57mln (29mln, 97%)

Holy balls, a 969% increase?! That's just ridiculous Toungue
lol yeah I think the source forgot a decimal point Wink
No, actually. If it went from 13 million up to 139 million, that sounds about right.

but DAAAMMMNNN!
That is just insane and funny after you read about EA's statement on backing Nintendo in another thread.
does this mean that ps3 owners play more sports games than other console owners, since ea makes a ton o'sports games
I play Burnout Paradise, which is made by EA but I don't think I have any other EA games. I will have to look at my collection tomorrow to see just how many games I have made by EA. Oh yeah, I just remembered Orange Box on the PS3 is also by EA. I'll edit this post tomorrow with other EA games if I have them.

EA probably figures they could have made more money going with Nintendo...

Plus they're "porting" L4D, they just port games Valve won't.
EA have their logo splashed on enough games. Just you wait til Sims 3 hits shelves next year xD
