JULY 29--You've probably seen that YouTube video of the New York cop viciously knocking down a bicyclist in Times Square last week. Officer Patrick Pogan's blindside hit on Christopher Long led NYPD brass yesterday to strip the rookie cop of his gun and badge pending a department probe. That review will surely focus on the 22-year-old Pogan's sworn account of the takedown, which led to Manhattan prosecutors filing three misdemeanor charges against the 29-year-old Long, who was participating in a monthly bike ride organized by transportation activists. As seen in the below Criminal Court complaint filed against Long (who spent 26 hours in jail after his arrest Friday night), Pogan offered a fantastical version of the incident. Pogan claimed that Long drove his bicycle directly into him, knocking the cop to the ground and causing "lacerations on deponent's forearm." The video, of course, shows Pogan delivering a blow that would have made former Oakland Raider Jack Tatum proud. Pogan also claimed that Long resisted arrest and even exclaimed, "You are pawns in the game, I'm gonna have your job." The bicycle enthusiast's second statement may prove prophetic.

It's cops like this DICK that give people a bad idea about law enforcement.
Just goes to show you how some people try to glorify themselves until proof of their misdeeds surfaces. Good cop gone bad? No, bad person gone worse.
Goddamn cops... I hate them SO very much. Thank god TLC doesn't come on anymore--she'd have a **** fit at this thread...

Funny, I had the exact opposite happen to me two Halloweens ago:

I went to the Castro for the Halloween extrrrravaganza (if you don't know what's up, just google San Francisco Castro Halloween or something) and at the end of the night (after the shootings ended and the police choppers were in the sky) a bike cop THREW his bike at me. Barely nicked my ankle, but still, the fucker threw his bike at me. So yeah, instead of throwing me OFF my bike, he threw his bike ON me!

Oh, and FYI, there are bike cops in San Francisco
Most cops you meet are arrogant, especially the small town ones who tend to believe they have descending from Olympus or something. Law enforcement has to start working for us and not against us.
