Is anyone reading/finished John Dies at the End? It's a novel that's free to read online and you can buy it as a paperback if you really want to. There's a long backstory to how it got created but check the Wikipedia page if you want that.

I'm almost finished with it and for a book that was written just as a thing to do it's really great and I love the combination of horror + comedy.

Read it
it would be like reading titanic,

you already know john dies at the end so why bother reading it Toungue
What I thinks going to happen:

Ok, im on the first page, and he should be dead by now, im guessing that maybe he keeps almost getting killed and in the end something stupid happens like slipping on a bar of soap or something?
I just finished chapter 8.
Of coarse im part of the 90% that skipped to the end..
I just finnished the book, now starting the sequel.

Man, this honestly could make a really good horror/drama movie book if he made it serious, but this way if much funnier, and enjoyable.
Seriously, there are a few points in this story that are actually scary, which is why I say as a serious horror; this would work, but then the best character in the book wouldn't fit in since all he is is comic releif. (John)

Ok, I shall take this single quote from the first page in the book which I found utterly hilarious to try nd convince you guys to read this comedy/horror (which you may notice leans more one way then the other)

The phone again. Molly growled at the chair. I closed my eyes, said an angry five-word prayer and answered the call.

Quote:
“Hello?”

“Dave? This is John. Your pimp says bring the crack shipment tonight, or he’ll be forced to stick you. Meet him where we buried the Korean whore. The one without the goatee.”

That was code. It meant “Come to my place as soon as you can, it’s important.” Code, you know, in case the phone was bugged.

“John, it’s three in the-“

“-Oh, and don’t forget, tomorrow is the day we kill the President.”

*Click*

He was gone. That last part was code for, “Stop and pick me up some cigarettes on the way.”

Lol! My English teacher was talking about this book, and said the same thing as Smokey. It sounds like a good read, though.
