Notes:
- Call of Duty 4 becomes only the second Xbox 360 game to sell 4 million copies in North America (after Halo 3).
- Mario Kart Wii continues to lead both the Japanese and European charts.
- The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sold less than 10,000 units COMBINED in Japan this week (8300 PS3s, 1500 360s)

*Wii debuts:
- Okami - 47,192 (#8)
Everything pretty much expected that I see. The next couple of weeks though I think some changes are gonna happen. Mario Kart Wii hits the U.S. as well as GTA4 for both the XBox360 and PS3.
Great sales for Okami so far. Let's hope it can keep this up.
I'm guessing MK-Wii will really hurt Okami sales, and GTA IV will push SSBB to at least 3rd place.
Of course GTA4 will knock down Brawl, it's the debut of the game... if it couldn't knock off a 150,000+ selling game in its first week on either console then it would be laughable...
The question is will Brawl be able to recover or has most gamers who want it already bought it.
It'll keep a steady pace. Do you doubt Nintendo's fanservice engine?

I'm playing Mario Kart right now. It has NOTHING on Brawl. Nothing at all. So Brawl should continue to sell more for Nintendo and hopefully stay up in the high ends of the charts. Its done this well so far after all.
Looking at the sales numbers, it just looks like gamers are ready for a new game.  I have no doubt that SSBB is a more complete experience that MK, but gamers will snatch up MK just because it's new.  With Brawl well under 200,000 in sales right now and a PS3 demo at the top, it's not going to be hard to dethrone them.

I wonder if MK will even sell more than Brawl?
Must be why the PS3 demo is so high. Or maybe that's because PS3 gamers are after something to hold them over until GTA4.

But anyhoo, Brawl will hang in there. Mario Kart will suck in the casual, "OMG LOOK AT THE STEERING WHEEL" crowd. Galaxy is still in there, and that shows that a game can hang in there. And Brawl is about on par with Galaxy for me.

Note: Steering wheel = fail.
I already wrote that it wasn't going to be hard to dethrone GT from the top of the list Smile

As for MK, can't you still play the game without the wheel?  If that's the case then you chuck it aside and play the game the way you want to, and call yourself a non-casual MK player.  It seems a little petty to down a  game over an piece of plastic you don't have to use.
I don't use it, I use the GCN control.

The game's other problems include ridiculous mechanics. You can ask Cappin'

You are guaranteed to be hit by at least one Blue Shell a match if you steadily stay first, countless other Red ones, plenty of Lightening Bolts and POW blocks, ect. The catch up A.I. is gone, they just broke the items more than they already were. People in higher positions will mostly get Banana Peels and Green Shells, people at the back will get Stars and Blue Shells. Yay, challenge people who are good at the game why don't you Nintendo? Oh wait, we forgot... wii want to play...... *watches tumbleweed*

The wheel is one thing. The game itself is okay. But nothing special.
I haven't checked to see if there is a way to turn the items off yet but I hope there is. It is very annoying though. I normally don't mind the items too much but I loathe the blue shell that will never miss. I get hit with at least 3 or 4 per race (I'm normally 1st Toungue ). You can take out the red or green shells with well placed items of your own. The POW can't be blocked and neither can the squid, afaik. I have been hit with 5 items at once! That's just ridiculous to me. If you're first and get targeted you can fall back to last real fast. It's like you get punished for being too good...
Items are always on. Unless you do Time Trial mode.
Alas, I can't escape it then...
I woner if MKWii has the power to beat out GTA4 next week, time will tell.
No. No it doesn't.
Nintendo just loves items for some reason, seriously.

Big boost in Wii sales for some reason.
I doubt MKWii can stand up to GTA4.

It'll be a war between the "kiddies" and the "mature" gamers xD
Not to mention that GTA is coming to multiple consoles and not just one.
Even then it'll probably outsell Mario Kart.
