With the Wii’s thrilling success, you would think that Nintendo has a bright future of original things planned for it. Well that is just the biggest lie you can speak.

In a recent interview published in the Wall Street Journal, Satoru Iwata said that they have exhausted all of their original ideas for the Wi and are unsure of the extent of their ongoing development for the console.

Apperantly part of the Wii World Domination has been planned out from the beginning when Miyamoto proposed the idea of the Wii. Iwata says, "Wii Music completes what Miyamoto wrote in his proposal when he came up with the idea for the Wii. He was saying that he needs to think up more ideas now.”

They also have a word on accessories. "Most of the ideas for accessories that we had initially come up with are out now. We might think up some more, and we might make them if we do, but we don't have any plans to release a whole lot more."

This means for the mean time that we will have to rely on third-party publishers for accessories, which haven’t been that generous to the Wii in the first place.

With all this information here in this article and the news of the Wii 2 in production, does this mean that Nintendo is investing too much time for things in the future, casting aside the necessities of now?

That's not what it means at all. Nintendo has released everything that Miyamoto originally pitched for the idea of Wii. Now it's time for new ideas. Nintendo is not 'out of ideas'.
Hmm, maybe the Wii won't last a long as we thought, who knows.
the quote is:

thats not at all what the *sshats at gamer chip are saying
Maybe now they can do more hardcore titles. The casuals will probably be happy with what they've got for awhile. And they'll have WiiMusic and Wii Sports Resort soon as well.
imo this is good, now its back to the bsaics of what made Nintendo what is it now.
I think Nintendo has given their consumer more than enough to keep them happy for the next 3-4 years. They've worked tirelessly to bring out new accessories left and right, so I think people should be satisfied.
Wow, is Miyamoto the only one with ideas at Nintendo?
"Miyamoto-san isn't thinking of anything right now, so in the meantime... buy Wii Fit."

Come on. Either this article is being skewed, or a Miyamoto successor needs to arrive. What happens when Miyamoto dies?

So does Nintendo.

Well, let me rephrase...

When Miyamoto dies, the horrible abomination that is the zombie company Nintendo will be shot in the head. It already died once, then some weird Voodoo brought it back to life, against nature's better judgement...
