"Adding proof to Ars Technia's report that sometime this September Microsoft will be price cutting all Xbox 360 SKUs, the VGChartz.com crew posted their own insider price cut evidence. VGChartz.com was sent the image above which was taken from a retailer's computer data base showing that, come this September 7th, a $199 Xbox 360 Arcade price point will be in full effect. Delicious!

"So, more proof that the first week of September we'll be treated to $199 Arcades, $299 Pros and $399 Elites or just a mean hoax? We say there's a good price cutting chance, but we'll have to practice our patience skills for one more month."

Good news for people who are planning on getting a 360.
thats a good deal, does the arcade not have a HD? any other limitations?
XBox 360 Arcade specs

I don't know if I'll get the Arcade version.
Maybe it's time to get a 360? It looks like it's only a 90 day price drop.
360 for £99?!

that's worth importing for Big Grin

The buy the HD itself.

Y'know..if...you have any spare cash you..could buy me one?

Wait, isn't it more worth it to get the Premium version? (if you want a HDD that is).

In the UK the premium version itself is near $400 so if we get a arcade for £100 (£50 cheaper than if we bought it here) then another £50 investment in a HDD pretty much gives us a premium £50 cheaper.

the only downside would be the need to import games Sad

perhaps modchip. but then no xbl

Ah ok, so it's a great deal for people in the UK.

Cause I think here the premium is about 300$ and the HDD is 100$.

EDIT: Wait, nevermind apparently the Premium is 350$. Ok so yeah, it's 50$ cheaper here too. I guess this would be a good deal then, but really for the full experience you need 300$ at least. Plus with that extra 50$ you'd almost have enough for live. Cause I mean, live is a must. XD

all the SKUs come with HDMI, but the arcade and pro do not come with the HDMI cable.

okay, thats no big deal,

best buy is giving $100 off a ps3 or a 360 with HDTV purchase ($900 +)

wonder if that will apply to arcade-100 bucks would be quite the deal

That's not exactly true.

You don't need a modchip (just flash the DVD drive), and you can still use XBL with a flashed 360.

aaah. that's very interesting.

It's especially good because the 360 has an external power brick, meaning that I could use A UK one without an up-transformer
