So, it has been confirmed, Wii online play will not require a subscription fee to play. Not long ago this news was announced by the Nintendo President and CEO
Reggie Fils-Aime. He said that he wanted Wii users the freedom to play online. He believes that fees and whatnot make the casual gamers who aren't ready to invest in something like that feel left out of the prime multiplayer experience. In addition, the console being Wi-Fi will be instantly in most cases, playable right out of the box. Sony's Playstation 3 is also offering a subscription free online service so it is not clear which console will have the more popular online service at this time.

that aside, i wonder if having a free online service will give Nintendo good reasoning to have great content.??thus far, Xbox live is king, mainly because it's the only one, but it seems like microsoft knows what it's doing.??i wonder if a small fee would have given Nintendo incentive to really go after the online market...
YAY!! It's Free... Which Source? Like Which Website...
Anyway.. I never really though about it... i expected nintendo to be FREE and Sony to charge a arm and a leg.. I was 1 / 2 Right!
