Okay, no thread has been made about this, and I'm intrigued to get some discussion going. There is little doubt that this movie *probably* won't top the first one. But having said that, at the very least it'll hopefully be an action-packed, entertaining 100 minutes at the movies. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
Due for release late June, 2009. I'm very excited but in a cautious fashion.
Megatron will be back, apparently as a tank this time. And it seems like the Autobots will be bringing him back to help conquer the new menace, the Fallen. Apparently "the Fallen" refers to one of the original 13 Transformers created by Primus.
Either way, I'll be following this ones.
What do you want out of the sequel?
I want freakin' hot shot to replace bumble bee. Bumble Bee is a Mini but no they make him a sports car...JUST USE HOT SHOT >:U
I would of expect Megatron back with a fee different team members but in his more powerful form *I forget the name* and possibly the chance of mini bots being involved some how.
I think I prefer the idea the film is being made on but the revenge of? blah...AS LONG AS HOTSHOT IS IN THIS FILM.
I believe you're referring to Galvatron. And (if) they decide to do a third (because two-movie series are lame, trilogy or one) he would possibly feature in it. Who knows though, depending on whether they touch on the issues of Unicron.
Hot Shot, meh. Bumblee Bee was like he was for a reason, not the maker's fault. I'd rather Bumble Bee to Hot Shot regardless.

Galvatron
Unicron
But we'll see.
I really liked the first movie and I am also intrigued by this second one. But like you LMX I'm sorta worried, how are they supposed to bring Megatron back? Will it be just some cop out, etc...etc...
But, my excitement outweighs my fears for this movie. I hope they do just as good of a job on this one as the first, and better even! XD
I can't think of a reason that Megatron's return will be a comeback. Because the way they disposed of the Decepticons was bullsh*t. I don't like the idea of the tank though, we already had Brawl in TF1.
Well judging on the ending of the first

StarScream, fitting to his role in the transformers universe in the fact he is ruthless and believes he is better than others including megatron. So yeah, Starscream flees earth in the ending of the first and he'll probably return here again with others wanting to over throw earth however he'll get tossed to the side by Legion etc. etc. then hot shot comes and just kicks general ass

If you can bank on crap like Max Payne being good, then we can assume this is as well.
No matter what it'll be a decent movie.
Galvatron should not be in it. He will forever be the greatest Transformers villain and should not try to be recreated.
Hot Shot could be in it. He's just another Autobot they could introduce to kill off. He's nothing special though. The only really special Autobots left are Hot Rod and the Dinobots. I would personally enjoy having Kup come into the movie though. One of the top 5 greatest geezers ever. "Baa weep grahna weep ninny bong."
I'm extremely intrigued by the concept of the movie though. I can't believe they're actually digging that deep into Transformers lore to find actual characters that have never really been used. This does open up HUGE potential for a third movie though since the Fallen partnered with Unicron which could leave the possibility of Unicron appearing in the movie or in the third.
