okay the only afforrdable places to buy a laptop around me are best buy (whom i am boycotting) and wal mart.
now at walmart i found a pretty decent laptop that i like, can afford, and the 2 year extended is only 99 bucks,
just wondering if anyone else has shopped for a computer there and what the experience was llike, plus if you had to use the warranty and what that entailed...
thanks in advance for info
If you could provide more info. I'll love to help out, I had trouble finding a decent laptop too but after a while I got this one.
What exactly are you looking for? You can find amazing deals on dell's website if you are patient.
Also, subnotebooks will be here soon, and they are really cheap! They are ultra portable and great for browsing the web and basic stuff.
walmart sells a dell, also, an inspiron
if i order from dell it takes 2 weeks, i cant limp along anymore with this piece o' junk that long
i dont need that much: 2g ram, 100g+ hard drive, dvdwriter, wireless, guess i'm stuck with vista

I have one I will sell. Great condition, dual core, 1gb RAM (upgrading is cheap), vista premium, 14.1", DL dvd burner, big HDD (can't remember exactly how much, more than 100 for sure), wireless, etc. Very light use. I have a desktop so this only gets brought out for travel that lasts longer than 1 week, or if I want to work on my bed instead (very infrequently). $350 to your door, shipped within 24 hours via USPS 2-3 day priority mail or UPS ground. I can give pictures and everything. Can also throw in some accessories... like a travel mouse, etc. Will be going on ebay next week if you don't want it.
Oh and FYI, the only people that don't like Vista are the people that don't have it and don't use it. You'll find that most Vista users like Vista, and that the negativity surrounding it is hype.
i'd like to see the pics, sounds like a good deal, if you cant trust your super admin who can you trust, right?

Bestbuy has a decent looking Toshiba on sale for rewards members where you get the Toshiba A215-S5837 Turion 64-TL60 (2 GB SDRAM, 160 GB HD, DVD/CD-RW drive and wireless for $499, plus you get a free 4 GB Zune MP3 player. I'm not sure if it's local only (in KC) or nationwide though.
I'm going to get check it out on Sunday.

That sounds like a good deal, though $10 says it's 15.4" (too heavy for my taste) and I bet it is a door buster (low stock, just used to draw people in and sell them to something else)
Still, if someone was going to buy a Zune anyway and wanted a lappy in that price range, it's pretty slick.

you can go to a circuit city or another major retailer and have them price match the best buy deal. you might actually find it cheaper other places.
