Personally, I see a reason to gloat. They're getting a game they didn't think they'd be getting (a AAA/highly anticipated game). It's a reason to celebrate right? Sony fans shouldn't cry because another system got FFXIII. That's selfish if you ask me, and only a fanboy would do it. What Sony fans need to be complaining about is the fact that the 360 version delayed their version of the game. I'd be pissed if I had a PS3.
that's exactly what I'm talking about.
PS3 owners always get the short end of the stick. They're the fanboys. They're the selfish ones.
But as lm-x said, who cares?
I'll be picking this up for sure. I do have AC on DVD but I want the complete version on Blu Ray and the demo of course!

Lol, if MS lost Gears I'm sure people would cry and I'd call them fanboys as well. If you lost exclusivity does it matter? Don't you still get to play the game on your console? What's the difference? The difference is more people get to enjoy the game. Like I said, only fanboys cry. And as Cloud said, most of the exclusive jrpgs Microsoft are getting will probably make their way to the PS3. Well, I don't believe they'll get IU or SO4, but everything else should make its way over there.
Before I thought it'd be impossible to give MS a demo, but it shouldn't be that hard... they can fit one measly demo on that tiny old dvd disc shouldn't they? :p They'll probably package the FFXIII demo with a future Square Enix/MS title.
Why waste the time making a demo for the 360 version? They still haven't finished the PS3 version and then they're porting it. Rather than making a demo for the 360, why not just finish developing the game?
I don't think a FF13 demo on the 360 would be cost effective or make the fans happy.
1. Putting a ~2 hour demo on the 360 would probably take a couple of disc, which would cost a lot more, because of licensing.
2. Putting out a demo on 1 dvd disc wouldn't give 360 users the same length or quality.
So I agree with Rooster, 360 fans just wait till 13 comes out and if you wanna know how good/bad the demo is, just read reviews of people who have the PS3.

Your reasoning is kind of awkward... Couldn't they just do both?

You're right with the cost effective thing but it wouldn't make fans happy? I don't see where you're coming from there.
On 1 & 2, why wouldn't a 90 minute demo fit on one disc?
Eh, you can't really rely on opinions. I liked Too Human while most didn't. Everyone found the ToV demo to be too easy while I got raped. I'd rather have a demo than listen to other people.

youve got to be kidding me.
lets break this down (assuming that they were miraculously able to fit 2 hours of gameplay into a dvd):
- in the full game, 360 users who bought it will have to switch out discs every two hours of gameplay.
- this also means that the blu-ray disc will be able to hold a 12 hour game.
- FF series is know for their 100+ hour of gaming experience. let's halve that and pretend the other half is spend on grinding.
- we're left with a 50 hour game which turns to a 5-disc blu-ray game, and 25 discs on a dvd.
it can also be argued that by including a demo with the movie, the visual and audio fidelity along with the extra features may have been compromised. are people buying this disc to get the best movie experience out of their favorite movie or for a demo?

...FFXIII demo bundled with Advent Children Complete: the demo will be on a separate Blu-ray disc...
People will buy the movie, not just because it's on Blu-ray, but because the FF13 game demo will be on a separate Blu-ray disc, and who knows how much of that disc will be taken up, but even if it's only half the size of the smaller Blu-ray disc (25gb) then either things will be left off a DVD demo, or they won't be the same quality.
I agree with Rooster and LM-X, it's unfair, annoying, but who gives a poop, and besides, isn't Bioshock coming to PS3.
Anyways I sorta regret getting 40GB PS3 now, cause if I get this, considering it's size, I'll have to delete a few things of my PS3, considering that I'll have two of the most memory consuming games if I get this, but I hope this demo helps me decide weather or not to get Final Fantasy XIII, as it's the first in the series I will play. (Same with MGS4)
This is just like how they did the FFXII demo, had to buy DragonQuestVIII.
you are one funny dude!
yup, and you were just one misinformed one
Since at least one version of 13 is coming to the 360 I think it would be great if 360 owners were able to get their hands on the demo, I just don't see that happening and I'll be the first one to be happy if I'm wrong. When it comes down to it, the only reason the 360 wouldn't get the demo is because 13 has been in production for the PS3 for so long, and will be released in Japan on that system before development/transfer begins on the 360 version.
lol. and you still think this demo will take up around 12GB? i may have been misinformed about the demo being on a separate disc, but im not giving false assumptions of why a demo wouldnt come out. isnt this game being built with the crystal tools which is made for multiplatforming? it's also not uncommon for a demo to come out after the retail version is out.
hilarious. cant wait to read more of your SDF posts.
So you want a 360 demo before Square even begins working on the Xbox 360 version of FF13?

This is a completely legitimate reason for no demo arriving on the 360, but assuming they already have the tools to begin development, that means they have from now until March 2009 to make a demo. It shouldn't be that hard right? Especially with SE bragging about how easy it is to port things on their new Jesus engine.
The Demo will come out for 360, just not any time soon. However, what COULD prevent a demo, is if it is too large. Perhaps the demo will be a shorter one.

But the question is: Can they be bothered? While they have seperate teams working on games SquareEnix already has: FF-XIII, FF-V-XIII, FF-A-XIII, KHDS, KHPSP, KHMobile, FF: Dissidia, Chrono Trigger DS, 3rd Birthday, DQ-IV, V and VI on DS, DQ-IX and Advent Children Complete on their plates. That's a lot to deal with for the next 12 months.
Not saying that is what will prevent a demo, they just have a lot going on right now. If/When a 360 demo comes, it'll be probably a few months before the game itself comes out. That's how I see it.

Sure! You gotta remember that SE is HUGE. They have multiple teams working on these games and if I remember correctly...
FF-XIII (These are the people that would make the demo)
FF-V-XIII (KH Team)
FF-A-XIII (Could burden them)
KHDS (KH Team)
KHPSP (KH Team)
KHMobile (KH Team)
FF: Dissidia (I think this is the KH Team as well)
Chrono Trigger DS (Port)
3rd Birthday (Could burden them)
DQ-IV, V and VI on DS (Ports)
DQ-IX (Enix)
Advent Children Complete (They're only adding a few scenes and altering the shoulder stab at the end)
As you can see, not much is hindering the demo's development. I do believe that 360's demo will come later though. Heck, if we're lucky, it'll get packaged with SO4.
What is the estimated release date for SO4? Completely forgot about that thing.
It's supposed to come out sometime in 2009. IGN says Q2 2009. If that time frame is true then it wouldn't be a bad time to release a demo. A couple months after the ACC demo, and supposedly a couple months before the release of the actual game.
