The latest issue of Famitsu PS3 is all about the recent Square Enix DKΣ3713 event, and FinalFantasyXIII.net has a few juicy scans from the magazine. One of the more interesting things to point about the upcoming FFXIII demo bundled with Advent Children Complete: the demo will be on a separate Blu-ray disc (meaning it will unlikely be region locked), and the amount of gameplay is promised to be longer than the length of Advent Children. That means the FFXIII demo should be at least 90 minutes long, if not longer. That's huge! The demo will supposedly come from the very beginning of the game, so players won't have to worry about spoiling the later parts of the game.

Sounds like very good news, and I'm glad they're packing it on a separate Blu-ray disc. I'll have to check the prices of Advent Children Complete, because we won't be seeing FF13 until sometime 2009, and I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a 90+ minute demo

If there is an XBL/PSN demo, I doubt it's going to be this long.

Also, they're finishing the PS3 version in Japan. Then, as they simultaneously localize US/Euro/SA versions, they''re going to do the 360 porting, so a 360 demo is likely further away, if at all.

Bleh, I have the movie already. I really wish they wouldn't package it with the movie or at least offer some alternative.

I plan on getting FF XIII for the 360, but a demo on the PS3 will have to help keep me happy until then

hmmm, a 5 minute video followed by 85 mins of combat, the same combat, over and over, again and again.

Oh come on now, this is a big deal. It's not as if this is Wario Ware Smooth Moves or something.

I think they're very smart packaging the demo with the release of Advent Children Complete, because you know people are gonna want to snatch up this demo, especially if it's going to be so long.

I want AC COMPLETE and I want the demo, so it's a win-win. Still more interested in Versus though.

I doubt a 360 demo as well. Honestly, they haven't even begun development of the 360 version. The PS3 demo is more of an apology to fans who feel ripped off about the 360 version of FFXII.

I dont know why people feel ripped off when its coming out for both consoles.

many people bought the PS3 because of FFXIII. what if you had paid $600 for a console to play FFXIII only to find that you could've paid $400 to play the same game I think you'd be a little irritated too. Plus it just shows that Microsoft can just throw their money around and get whatever they want.

I noticed that a lot of people with 360 are suddenly all smug about FFXIII. What's the deal with that? Why do 360 owners get to say 'haha we get FFXIII' and no one bats an eye, but a ps3 owner says 'it's not fair' and everyone calls him a fanboy?*

*(not specifically refering to anyone here. Just I've seen a lot of this on sites like GameFAQs and IGN)

I'm not saying I'm one of them. I am buying a PS3 for MGS4, FF-XIII, FF-V-XIII, RE5, KH3, ect.

But I can see where Rooster is coming from. PS3 fans who say its unfair are fanboys, but when 360 fans gloat, it's okay. But meh, who cares.

I like both my 360 and my PS3, so when I laugh at the Sony fanboys, it's not that I'm a gloating 360 owner, it's just that I'm mocking all of the Sony fanatics who were claiming that FF XIII would be the game to grant the PS3 world domination.

I do plan on getting this on my 360, but it isn't fanboyism. It's achievement whore-ism. And I like the controller better.

Personally, I see a reason to gloat. They're getting a game they didn't think they'd be getting (a AAA/highly anticipated game). It's a reason to celebrate right? Sony fans shouldn't cry because another system got FFXIII. That's selfish if you ask me, and only a fanboy would do it. What Sony fans need to be complaining about is the fact that the 360 version delayed their version of the game. I'd be pissed if I had a PS3.

PS3 will get most of the games 360 is supposed to have for exclusives IMO like infinite discovery and such

Since at least one version of 13 is coming to the 360 I think it would be great if 360 owners were able to get their hands on the demo, I just don't see that happening and I'll be the first one to be happy if I'm wrong. When it comes down to it, the only reason the 360 wouldn't get the demo is because 13 has been in production for the PS3 for so long, and will be released in Japan on that system before development/transfer begins on the 360 version.
