I really don't see what all the hype is about. But alas, I could be missing out. I don't really think so though.

I'll wait for the next one. I always skip about two or three years between games. Hopefully Madden in 2010 will have roster updates because I didn't hear anything about the Wii version getting those.

It's like the 20th anniversary eddition of Madden so all versions are really special, so they say. The Wii version has roster updates but with less realistic graphics now because of All-Play.

I have Madden and there are roster updates on the Wii version.

And by the way, I called Madden domination many days prior. Ownageee.

Yeah, I forgot about it being the 25th anniversary. I played some of the demo but wasn't too impressed with it. It seemed like the same ol' game to me though a bit polished and with a couple new features. I haven't really enjoyed playing a football game since NES Pro Action Football.

Madden hasn't been right since it hit perfection on Xbox/PS2/PC in 2004.

Of course, I've always found the 2k series of everything far superior...

When they were made under Sega Sports on the Dreamcast.

Yeah, I loved 2k sports on the Dreamcast and I did prefer them to Madden back then as well. I miss most of the Dreamcast games (though I still own one and have it somewhere) and I wonder what ever happened to those games. Why not any new versions of them? Why have most Sega games turned to crap since the demise of the Dreamcast? Why do I still care???

NHL 2K9 looks fun....so far...

Even when they weren't made by SEGA the 2K line of games were getting to the point where they were about surpass Madden (and they cost half the price) before EA signed the exclusivity deal with the NFL.

Yeah, that deal still pisses me off now. They should make a gaming law, similar to a monopoly that wouldn't allow this to happen. It's bad for the gaming industry and the gamers.

It is all semantics. If you have money and reputation, you will be noticed before everyone else. And that is exactly what EA has done over the years. Think of NHL 94 on the Genesis or the old Madden games...EA has every sport covered. And they did it all first.
