So tell me, have any of your siblings, friends or relatives gained an interest in gaming from the Wii beyond the waggle?

For most of us it was a ladder. We had games getting bigger and better, better graphics, bigger worlds and grander stories to take part in. In many ways a larger dose to keep stringing us along with promises of even better experiences down the road.

How do you think it is for those whose first taste of gaming was the Wii? How do they see the almost daunting complexity of modern gaming and big-budgets?

Have any of your kin gone beyond the Wii? Bought a DS or PSP, tried out the 360 and PS3?
My dad beat The Legend of Zelda: TP.
Sure he had my help [he couldnt jump in a straight line]
but he freaking beat it.

We shall see what happens when I go to college and bring my wii with me.
My Mum had never ever shown any interest in Videogames at all before the Wii. She was never against them, but just never took interest. But then the Wii came along and she finally had a go, and enjoyed it. Sadly, she soon became bored of Wii Sports etc. The day after I picked up GTA she walked past me and stared at the screen. For some reason she was very amused. Out of all the games my mum could of took interest in, it was Grand Theft Auto. So yeah, after 30 minutes or so of her watching me play, she carried on doing whatever she was doing.
my uncle (42) played bowling on my wii when i came home with it last summer, and he'd been bugging my grandparents for one ever since XD when we finally found him one, he started playing more than i did, but wanted something more to take with him to work...so he bought a DS. i swear, he's addicted. no matter what we go to, it's there in one of his pockets or in his glove compartment. and every two weeks i think he gets a new game for each.
why was he bugging your g-parents for one, why not buy it himself?
cause he could? idk. he's a big momma's boy, staying there instead of with his girlfriend and her son. maybe he didn't want her to find out and give it to her son, which she's done in the past with things.
my parents refuse to even play bowling with me...
but my sister attempted SSX a while back and enjoyed it alot, so you never know! lol
my mom just loves mario kart wii, even if she doesn't know how to use items.Big Grin She seems interested, so I might try to lure her in slowly with other games like Mario Galaxy or something. I have a ds and a wii, but for my wii I don't have many 'waggle' games. I have MP3, Zelda: TP, Okami, Galaxy, and Guitar Hero. But I do have some waggle games for get-togethers and parties.
Man, I thought this was a weed thread...crap.

XD

My parents are the most unlovers of video games next to the Amish, they refuse to play even Wii sports, at all.
My parents both played a few other games before getting their Wii. Wii was the progression, I guess, lol. Both of them had first gotten interested in a few computer games. My dad was particularly interested in Diablo.
