They just had a huge rally to announce this across the road from where I work.  Apparently, all you have to do is graduate from a local high school, and your first two years of college at a local community college are paid for.  This is the power of private charity... it was done without an increase in taxes.  Anyone else have programs like this in your area?
Not that I know of. It's only because you work so close that they're doing it. People will be like "OMG a celebrity" and will pay more the following years. Toungue It is a really nice act of kindness though.
My town averages a graduating class of over 800, so I don't think we'd be able to raise enough money for a program like this. Still, in areas where it can work, it certainly is a nice thing to do.
omg, thats socialism/communism joker

hows the corporate greed gonna exploit the working class now...
i am going to college free...

The entire state of florida pays for 4 years of school if you maintain a GPA in high school of over 3.5 and do 80 community service hours.
nice, thats as it should be...i assume minimum grade points must be maintained
In New Jersey, if you're in the top 20% of your graduating class, you attend any state college for free.
