The Wii version of Guitar Hero: World Tour is going to be getting a little surprise. Vicarious Visions has confirmed that the Wii version will not only have all the same content and features as the PS3 and 360 version, but will have an extra "Mii Freestyle" mode.

Now many of you are probably thinking, “well, just putting Mii’s in Guitar Hero isn’t that great of a feature.” Well that is not the case here.

Mii Freestyle mode is actually an exclusive game mode were you can make music on the fly by using Guitar Hero guitars or drums. What is also interesting is that you can create music by using the Wiimote and Nunchuck as air drums, Wii Music style.

When you get to the composing part of this mode, the instruments will lay down predetermined notes or sequences based off the style of music chosen. Vicarious Visions' David Nathanielsz calls the mode "a helpful bridge between the core game and the Music Studio in Guitar Hero: World Tour for Wii owners."

Now Guitar Hero for Wii will really be rocking due to the fact that it has all the modes the other versions have, plus an exclusive mode. The only thing now that the other versions have for them is the better graphics, which don’t really matter in a music game. Unless due to some unfortunate bug, Guitar Hero: World Tour for Wii should come out to be the superior version.

Heh...while I think you're right about the feature being cool I don't think it'll be anywheres close to the superior version. Not with better storage for DLC on the 360 and PS3 and an eons better online system on the 360 and PS3.
Awesome!

We finally get an exclusive feature of our own while still getting the same content as the PS3 and 360! That, my friends, is win.

I don't think the online really matters in this one. This is more for you to get a group of friends together and rock out through the career mode. Besides, more people play Guitar Hero locally than they do online. It's just that type of game.

To other drummers: I wonder if german grip will work, considering the wiimote and nunchuck will be sideways.
well I guess it would work...

Well, GH now officially beats Wii Music.
Guitar Hero lacks cowbell.

That's how Wii music should have been and the way I thought it was going to be but alas...
