You're probably right about that view being well suited; I'll go along with your decision.

Yea, ol' fashioned GTA, sky view would be best for the DS.

Ach I hated that! But yes it would make more sense than to have it 3D on the DS,

I think they might have some trouble making this for DS. Sky view probably would be best, but after awhile I think it would not feel like a GTA game at all.

Ugggggggggggggh...PLEASE not sky view. D:

Sky view isn't too bad, it's a nice testament to those who were around playing the original PSone games.
However if they do a 3D one it'll be interesting to see how glitchy and limited it is.

I'd like it to be 3D.
If I want a 2D GTA, I'll just get the GBA one.

The original GTA games were sky view though so you wouldnt really lose the feel of the GTA games.. Just the newer ones if anything.. edit: Im no expert on the DS, but surely it doesn't have the capabilities to play the full GTA game as it appears on 360 or anywhere near? You can't expect them to manage anything better than sky view or 2D (which i think would suck) for this game for it to have half decent graphics so you can tell one thing from another unless it came on multiple cartridges just because of the sheer size of the game? And that would be a pain in the arse for Nintendo dont you think?.
not sure if that will make sense now after all the edits, but i know what i mean lol.

Yea, I doubt a real GTA4 look would be capable on a DS, on just one cartridge, it would have to be a small place and a short story, and I doubt online.
It also really annoys me that people forget that GTA4 was going to be exclusive to PS3 and now it seems that nobody even thinks about being on the PS3, just 360, but thats just my pet peeve.

Going by how much I like the console versions of GTA, I'm definably not going to like this one.
Last GTA game that I played and enjoyed was GTA2.. which was skyview.
I'd vote skyview, but either way I'm not going to give it a rent, let alone buy.
Hell, I wouldn't even dl it.

the DS is capable of a GTA3+ style of gameplay because if you think about it, FF4DS it technically similar, so it shouldn't be a problem.

However, FF4DS is not a sandbox game.
Sandbox games require a lot more power to run.

I think any modern GTA game should be 3d, but I don't think the DS would be able to do it very well. Maybe the game should have been made for the Wii instead and kept the serious in the modern age, because the overhead view sucks.

FF4DS doesn't need to remember where you jacked several cars and stashed them; GTA does.
That'll use processing power, and FPS will drop.

I think they'd be able to manage a 3D version. Sure it wouldn't have as many cars or graphically effects as the console versions but is it supposed to? some of you sounds like you expect them to be able to port GTAIV to the DS without losing any graphical quality.
