Just a quick rundown of what I think of LostWinds so far. I've been playing for a little over an hour and so far the game is great. It puts many retail Wii games to shame in every category immaginable; gameplay, audio, presentation, visuals, etc.

Using the pointer and wind to move the main character, Toku, around feels really great and all the platforming and puzzle elements work really well together. Using the IR pointer you will be able to control the wind which you can use to propel Toku in any direction you please and can also be used to manipulate rocks, fire, water, and other elements.

The game is a really pleasant surprise and already in launch week it shows that WiiWare is capable of much more than we may have given it credit for. If you were undecided or on the fence about this game (like I was) toss those doubts aside because you're getting a very solid game in LostWinds and even though I've heard that it is over very quickly it already feels like it is worth your Wii points. After all, Portal was also a very short game but is one of the best I've ever played.

If you're not sure about the game, got a few questions, or want to leave your own impressions feel free to do it here.

I'll put up my impressions on Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles: My Life as a King soon enough.
Ia gree with you on all points Kindrik. This game really shows the kind of effort that developers can put into making a decent Wii title. The thought of the way this would've turned out if it had been a high budget title...

It doesn't seem like it would have much replay value...but maybe that's because I haven't played it too much...
I don't think you're really going to have much of a reason to go back and play it once you're done with it really, unless they spring something surprising on us.
hmm... i want lost winds... but i also want My Life as a King... but i dont have $25...

crap. i cant decide.
I was in the same boat as you but in the end I just couldn't make up my mind and got both. Toungue
How do boss fights work in the game and how fun is making twisters.

The single Boss fight is okay...nothing really game improving though.
